Hello all,
I have figured out that I enjoy the more basic flavors of snus, rather than berry,frosted....etc
I really like General op....

Can anyone suggest other snus portions, that are similar?? maybe not so similar in price....(thanks PACT-O-crap)..llessur

Like General? That's kind of tough. The big competitors aren't in America anymore :^/ Here's a few you may like...

Gotland Gul - Heavy bergamot, tastes like evergreen, tends to the bitter side
Jakobsson's Classic - Similar to the above, but with more of an orange and hop taste
Ettan - Plainer tobacco, no bergamot
Grov - Similar to Ettan with a stronger flavor

Grov is a lot stronger and more drip than any of those, more smokey.

Ettan is awesome though.

There were a few other brands that were similar but can no longer get due to pact.

Yeah I would recomend LD los, but you'd have to use less than legal channels. Have you tried all the different general's prolly your best bets. Oh and try some los god dang it.

Can't you buy any brand from buysnus? I have not ordered in awhile, but that was the impression I got from their little memo about the pact act. If you can, get some Granit. If you can find any PM 1847 still in stock anywhere, you might give that a try also (although you will inevitably be heartbroken if you like it).

I like General Onyx, tastes like the General with a more peppery overtone.

To me all the General bergamot styles always seem to finish nice with just a salty tobacco taste that I can leave in for a couple hours, a lot of others I have been trying (Thunder, Skruf) start to get quite bitter after about a half hour.


The Ettan portions I found quite disgusting tasting much like dirt. However the Ettan los is (to me) incredibly tasty... so if you dont enjoy the portions of that, try ordering some los, to me it was well worth the effort.

If you're looking for a cheap alternative to General I'd say try Olde Viking original. It's getting decent reviews and the price is good.

Not ANYTHING, but a lot of things that Northerner can't.

It's weird because a lot of the Non-FDA stuff they won't ship but some they do.

General is my staple snus, and the three of these are my favorite alternatives. They are all a touch cheaper than General, but not a lot cheaper.

P.S. I don't care too much for Jakobsson's Classic, mainly as I find it too citrusy. But if you especially like the citrus element of General, it could be to your liking, and it's a fair bit cheaper than General.

well I have been finishing off this ten can log of Knox White Portions. Because of all the talk about Getsnus problems, I don't know if I should buy more. I would like to try the Knox Original Portions, but I can just buy General here at the Cigar store if the probs with getsnus are so bad. I have to pay a lot more for it at the cigar store ... Knox is cheap and it seems to work well enough for me. Yeah I do like the taste of General.
