Went out last night with a buddy of mine who is a postman here in the Albany, NY area. We got to talking about tobacco and I brought up the PACT act troubles. He said that they are delivering tobacco all the time with absolutely no problems and no instructions otherwise. He said that he is delivering envelopes and boxes with "onlinesmokeshop.com" type return adresses on them. Also, he is aware of the different laws in the works but as far as he knew they were on hold. So you should have no trouble ordering tobacco online in NYS acccording to this guy. I personally have not ordered any snus since pact, but I put my first nasal snuff order in through Toque a little over a week ago and it arrived Monday via USPS no problem. Just wanted to pass it along...
USPS still delivering Tobacco

My recent order with a snuff vendor in the UK was shipped through the USPS via British Post or something of the sorts and my son was luckily by the house and left a note claiming the postman had him sign for the package. Other than that, it was clearly marked with a customs type declaration on the outside of the package that it contained the several tobacco snuffs & a chewing tobacco twist.
Strange stuff going on... no idea.

Are we forgetting there is a temporary injunction in NY state by
Judge Arcara putting the PACT Act on hold? Next hearing is set
for this Friday July 30.
The actual injunction allows USPS mailings by the Senecas, but at
only 1 of 3 designated mailing offices. The confusion concerning
this injunction is such that a 'f*ck it' attitude has undoubtedly
developed until a resolution is achieved. It's doubtful, especially
at this stage, that a full-force system of compliance is in place
throughout the postal system. Despite postal denials, like so
many other postal directives it's hit-or-miss -- each individual
office presents its own sets of problems!!

When dealing with the USPD

Just make sure you go to a
different Office each time!

But human nature being what it is..
It's so much easier to just overlook the situation until
a final ruling is made, as simplistic as that may sound.
(I think your postal buddy might concur!)
Also under consideration by the Federal Judge is a petition
to rule the PACT Act (or just some of its provisions) as
unconstitutional. I don't remember the whole of it but the
petition concerns restraint of trade and a bunch of other
constitutional questions.
US District Judge Richard J. Arcara has had over 20 days
so far to ponder the issue and now we await a possible
ruling (or three or more), maybe this Friday.
If there's any true justice in this world, we can only hope that
some of the more restrictive measures will be totally erased
from this cockamamie PACT Act.
