    travel with snus?

I will travel to Europe this summer, and i need to take snus with me because it is not available where i am going.
For 7 weeks, i will take 4 rolls of snus, just be be sure that i have enough. I can put a roll in my wife's luggage, one in my daughter's luggage (she is 8 ) and two in my carry on backpack, just in case the check in luggage gets lost.
Question is: Do custom officials over there make a fuss over snus?
    Any experience?
    Thank you.

I have had American snuff shipped to me when I was in Europe and no problems at all. 5 cans of copenhagen were sent, no issues. I believe it is legal to carry on you snus in Europe, but not legal to sell or purchase. Unless you are in Sweden. Now if you ship or take with you 100 rolls, I would guess that would be confiscated and stopped.

Europe consists of around 50 different countries. You may have to pay duty in every country that has a tax on smokeless tobacco, e.g. Switzerland and Sweden.

Since certainly noone of us is an expert for all the different customs-regulations in all the different countries, you should give us a hint to which countries you're going to travel.

In case you travel to Germany: Snus is absolutely free of taxes or customs-duties here. It's only banned for local sale, so you shouldn't try to drive a lorry full of snus across the border, but 4 rolls for personal use are no problem.

This applies for most European countries, since snus is a niche product almost everywhere and therefore not taxed.

      Cheers!

Thank you. I will go through Germany, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Italy, France, Spain, and Portugal.
I am not too worried, i may even order by mail and have it sent to one of my destinations.

That's probably the best plan. I'd say to bring enough to get you to your first few destinations and then order as you go. If you bring it all from Norway it will probably be more expensive than buying it from Sweden, even if you end up having to pay duty or taxes at the border here and there!

Think that you should ship that large of a quantity ahead of your trip, to be safe. You could put it in your luggage without any problem, carry a few on your person, without hassle. I've had no problems with personal use amounts.
