I thought that about the expiration date too. Maybe in Euro format (dd/mm/yy) rather than US (mm/dd/yy) ?

Also I've found moistness of brown portions can vary batch to batch. I find very moist portions much more intense than medium moist -> dryish ones. For instance looking at Skruf Stark some really moist batches I've had have made me cough and want to remove the portion after a short while but this quite a rareity.

    Just my take anyway.

Wish I could up a picture of this...
You know the thingy you can open(not the can) a small storage where you store used snus.. the expiration sticker is on there, not on the bottom of the can and the Thunder logo is also backwards(upside down).

Like 5 hours before putting the snus in I had a Thunder Berry.
Also, I tried the frost 2 times, 2 different cans, same result.

What he means is that there have been Thunder cans labeled "upside down" recently. like the can was literally wrong side up when it went through the labeling machine. So the date label is on the snus catcher lid instead of on the bottom, and the printing is upside down, with the perforated part where you open it toward the bottom of the can instead of at the seam of the lid/can.

I think not all Frost's are created equal. I wouldn't worry so much about the staleness factor as mentioned unless its moldy or shits crawling on it, snus just doesn't really go sour in that way.

With that said, I note you mention you had used Thunder Frost before without reaction like this. I must tell you a little secret. I chewed copenhagen dip for 30 years before moving to snus. I've had Skruf Stark / ES, General ES, Oden's ES, .... and NOTHING had ever hit me like my first Thunder Frost did, not even the newer "Berry" flavor. I was literally driving down the road and seeing double and thought stars were chasing me. My head was throbbing but I stuck it out and what a 'buzz' it twas. Haven't really had one since except when I tried to play "Hero" and loaded up my 5ml plastic Syringe with 2 1/2 clicks of Oden's ES lös snus. That almost made me heave on tobacco for the first time since my first dip of Skoal Wintergreen when I was like 12. (Ok, I fibbed a little, I almost threw up on my one and only portion of General Wintergreen a few months back...)

But anyhoo, I'm going on like a damn hen. Cut back to the point, I think V2 is being a little inconsistent with some of their snus and portioning/sizes.... Maybe you just got that little xtra kick of nic cause I'm no doc but I would venture to guess by your symptoms, you rather had a bit of slight NicoTine OD going on there.

I agree with Lazer, Thunder Frost has had some serious issues lately. Inconsistant portion number in the tins, dryness, wetness, half full portions, upside down labels, I don't know what the hell is going on.

But I know it is usually a great product, made by great people. When I brought my issues up to Marc Vogal himself, he agreed to replace my order, thats just the kind of guy he is.

That being said, I also agree with Lazer that perhaps you got a Thunder that had a little extra kick in it. The stuff aint no joke as it is, it really is one hell of a powerful beast, and with a bit of accidental extra nicotine, I can totally see how it could take you easily "over the edge".

Considering I have at the moment of speaking, kept Thunder Berry under for like 3 hours, I really don't know how much nicotine must be in the Frost to get me going in 15 minutes..Reaching 20mg/g?
                :P
W/e, more nicotine for same money, win/win anyway :P

Northerner/GetSnus - Recieved order... is expired snus normal?

New snuser here, just got my second order from get snus. 12 cans total, and a prismaster. I ordered 8 portions and 4 los of various kinds.. I was excited about trying Los, and all 4 cans of different snuses were on back order which I didn't find out till I opened the package! I felt like a 5 year old waking up to an empty christmas tree! Especially holding that teasing Prismaster! But I understand, I know from experience from a previous business I ran that sometimes an "In stock" label and the actual inventory get into disagreements sometimes 8^)

What does bother me a bit, of the 8 cans I did receive 3 or 4 are expired, with 1 or 2 very close. A couple are even 6 months or more over best by date. Is this typical when getting your shipment? For the record, I'm not bashing Northerner, I'm directing it to the fact we're ordering it from Sweden.

I know most say best by date doesn't really amount to anything, but I 've took that as more of a personal stock scenario instead of a new purchase.. and don't let the lack of tone in text betray the fact that I'm again not bashing, just sincerely wondering since again this is only my second order, and none of the first were expired.

Thanks much for any replies! Sorry for the long winded post, but man.. I love writing. Take care all.

Welcome to SnusOn! If the cans are labeled from Sweden the date format is Day/Month/Year. What were the dates and language?

+1 on what Snuffy said (and if I am not mistaken I think he means what is the language on the white label on the bottom of the can where the best by date is printed.) If the label is in Swedish then it is day/month/year. If it is in English then it will be month/day/year. Let us know

Second I would be very surprised if they sent you expired snus

Third, if they did send me expired snus I would be raising all kinds of hell until they sent me a replacement that was fresh (just make sure it's really expired before you hit the incinerate button)
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

No, it's not typical. The old Getsnus, was legend for sending "older" stuff. One month before best-by dates were common. But they never sold expired and often ran discount specials on near date stuff. Back in the old days, when Getsnsus was Getsnus and Northerner was Northerner, the Northerner customers frequently claimed they received fresher product than Getsnus usually provided.

Hah! thanks much guys.. I did not know that and it is indeed the exact case at hand.. Thank goodness for my open mind and think before doing mindset!.. I would have looked and felt like a complete fool had I called them on the fly demanding compensation...

So, if my exhausted over worked brain isn't mixing things up.. for the most part I've been picking which can is next by what I thought was the closest expiration date, which turns out to be me saving all of the cans I should have been using next, and snusing the ones I should have put last.. This blatant disrespect to Swedish snus deserves death by the contents of an entire can of Thunder dumped into my mouth and sealed with duct tape!

Thanks very much guys, I look forward to learning from the "Elders" what I can. Be safe.
