The expiration issue is standard with Getsnus. I don't think it is a huge issue. But still, you order snus, you don't expect it to already be past the Best By date.

To me, it's a non-issue. We know it doesn't magically turn bad after that date. I also don't think they do it on purpose. Esp in a mixed roll, I'd think it was just unknown.

To me, Getsnus has been great. I haven't checked all my dates, but the ones I did look at, none were past.

Yeah, none of the snus has been bad or anything like that. I think it's more just the principle of it. It's also a little irritating that they have an expired snus section specifically to get rid of out of date snus at a discount, but when you pay full price, you still get expired product.

Again, I've had not problems with the actual product, it just kind of irks me a little bit.

Maybe if they send past date snus they should include another free can. But I wonder it they knowingly do it. Of course they could check them 1st, and to me, an extra can would be even greater.

I would hope that they knowingly do it. If not, they're being run by a bunch of imbeciles. I couldn't imagine running a business where the product you were selling was not closely monitored and inventoried.

Everything I've ordered from getsnus has been either past the best buy date or at the most a month from it. It doesn't really bother me due to the quickness of delivery, and their excellent customer service. The snus I get from them is never "bad".

I just attribute it to the fact that they're in the states, and that's just what they're suppliers send them.

Getsnus serves it's purpose for me. I use them for the snus I like that they have for the quickness. But lately I've been ordering from Northerner because that's who has my favorites. My only gripe with Northerner is the fact that they don't have a phone number for customer service, but that's just a minor inconvenience. They always address any problems by email, and have immediately fixed the few problems that I've had.

Just to be fair here, roll of Odens Cinnamon Sterk arrived from Getsnus today. Snus best by dates either 2/10/2010 or 3/1/2010 on all of them.

Seems a bigger issue with Getsnus with some snus vs others. I have a 2nd order arriving shortly that has a bunch of other sterks, about 6 or 7 different ones?? Am curious as to the best by dates on those

I guess I'm just lucky in that I never get any expired stuff from Getsnus. The only time I've ever got anything close to expiring is when it's been the free mystery can, so I don't think it's "standard experience".

Most the stuff I get is before the expiration date, it's just that there's always at least one in every order that's expired. It seems like the more popular stuff is what is out of date more often. It's doesn't seem too logical, but after thinking about it, it would make sense. They buy a crapload expecting to sell a crapload and then there's some left over, but on the other stuff, they limit their orders, deplete their stock faster and have to reorder sooner.

All of my Thunder Frosted, Gote Rape and #2, Roda and Catch Eucalyptus have been received well before the expiration dates every time.

i had like 5 cans of general maxi come in at once 3 were expired, one was dried out, i put an apple in it, fresh in 2 days, the others were fine, and the two that werent were just as good, as the expired ones... just meaning they both tasted the same. otherwise ive always had good luck usually they are a month or two out, of course thunder doesnt go bad for like a year so no matter what you can get it, and it will still be good lol.

I used to use the apple trick years ago when I dipped Skoal. I never used much, so the tin would dry out before I finished it. The apple works very well. I've also heard of people using a cucumber slice.

have to say...my last order had 2 cans of Claq Qui that expired the same day they were shipped...(thinkin I posted this at the time). I emailed and they were back to me within the hour offering free cans on next order or a credit for the ones I got.

My take...they stock in U.S., and maintaining inventory against expiration has got to be a nightmare at times. I have to give them credit for dealing with it properly at the very least. I had even stated in my email that it was not a huge deal as I'm sure the product is fine.

I understand the frustration certainly, but I often judge a company as much if not more by how they deal with issues that do arise.
