Hey, Welcome to SnusOn both of you!

Eric: I wouldn't worry about it they should be fine. Congrats on the 8 days!

Chaotic: Not normal for Northerner, but these are strange times, with the pact act closing on us. The stuff is probably fine though.

As long as they've been stored correctly, they'll be fine.

The can of Lucky Strike I'm using right now has a best by date of August, 09, 2009.

        Welcome to SnusOn Chaotic!

I'm guessing the tins you got from Northerner have the European date(DD/MM/YYYY), and aren't past due. In any case, I have snus that's 3 years old and still fine. It might not be exactly as good as brand new, but it's good enough.

Thanks for the reponses guys! I went ahead and threw one of the cans along with a few others in the freezer that I baught last week in a ziploc to keep them as fresh as possible. I really enjoy using this site for info on snus being that no one I know uses it. I'm excited to try different brands/flavors soon. I really wish they sold more variety here in San Antonio. Im debating on placing an order before the pact act to get the most bang for my buck. Still a little confused on the pact act, how much more will it be per can/roll in dollars and cents. Bottom line is I love snus so far. Wish my father knew about it before he passed away, he quit a few years before e died but I think it might of gave him a couple more years.

            Welcome to the board.

            I'm a new snus'er too.

I have a Cigar shop in my area that sales General, and I also got a can of Mint that expires 6-15-10. I've kept it in the fridge though, and it's not too far from being gone anyway.

the worst you be is with snus that needs a couple drops of water, except for the mint part but that's just my taste.

You could put them all in at once.

Thanks! Glad Im not the only newbie lol. I gotta thank Marlboro if I didn't get that coupon for their free crap snus I wouldn't of researched the real deal. Only hard part of me quiting smoking is the morning one, my routine. I think I may order some of that "extra sterk" just for the a.m. If you haven't yet do a search for snus on YouTube. There are some good vids there. Especially the ones from northener and a guy called Snusify

The way I see it, snus will never be cheaper than it is right now. If you don't plan on quitting any time soon, and you have the money, now's the time to buy.

Yeah, I threw a bunch of those coupons that came in my packs away until I decided to try some.

When I got to work that day, I googled snus to find out more about it, and quickly realized the still unopened free pack of Marlboro I had wasn't worth what I paid for it.

I still haven't given up my morning one, it's the hardest one to stay away from. I'm getting some Extra Stark for the same reason.

That's more habit than anything. Try delaying your morning smoke. Keep your cigarettes in the car, and don't smoke one until you're headed to work. You've already done the hard part. Once you break the psychological habit of a morning cig, you're home free.

I would agree to an extent. I think there is a cost associated with stocking up. The cost of energy to keep it refrigerated or frozen, the cost of space taken up, and the cost of slightly diminished quality as you eventually use your long term stored snus.

While these costs can be minimal, they add up quick if you start vacuum sealing things or if you incur any loss due to improper storage.

The biggest thing that stops me from buying any more snus than I already have is- the frequent new releases. I might pay the upcoming higher prices to get new, fresh snus.

It would be cool to still have some Crystal Pepsi stashed somewhere, but I wouldn't drink it. lol

I have reached my comfort with a balance between the initial chaos of PACT going into effect and the quantity I'm willing to hold without finding myself on an A&E show.

So way off topic... Three days is no big deal.
I've got snus that's been in the refrigerator door over a year and is fine.

                        Welcome aboard dudes!

Yeah, I don't use as much as most(2-4 per day), so for me Having a 30 can stash is really more than I'd Ideally like to keep. But LX is right it will never be cheaper than it is right now. On the other hand we don't really know how all this is gonna pan out, till it happens....... guess we'll see who made the right moves and who didn't. 17 days till d-day....

You're right about it being habit. If we don't have any smokes at the house, I'm fine with not having one before I get ready for work.

But when we do, I just grab one and walk right outside.

After literally 2 days I completely stopped with the cigs. I still have three packs I can't get rid of. Just can't let go. Come Monday I'm going to sell/give them away at work. Big step for me. Main things I love is not going outside in the heat. My clothes not stinking to hell and most important adding years to my life for my wife and son. Not to mention snus tastes way better! Only thing I regret isnot finding out about it sooner.

I gotta admit some of the PACT threads remind me of Y2K hysteria, just see how it goes
