So I just got the second part of my order from Northerner and they have expiration dates of March 2010, anybody else have this happen to them?

Never. That's weird. Are you sure you're reading the dates right? Swedish date order is different than the US.

I have received stuff from different vendors that was really close, I mean within a week, to the expiration date but never expired stuff. You might want to send them an email as it may be a quality control issue they need to look at. You are probably safe to try the snus but hopefully they give you a discount on your purchase as expired snus usually sells for a lot less.

I'm almost positive. The date is 03122010, but my other Swedish snus has the same format for the date (for example, one says 11232010). The other indicator is that the snus is completely dry, unlike the other ones I received from them.

First off. You do know the dates are in dd/mm/yyyy format.

At least you can see the dates. The americanized sticker on the bottom covers up the dates on the newer cans I have.

LOL - I bet the can also says White Portion on it as well!

I am well aware of the differences in date formats internationally, so I could be wrong on it but I assumed because the other containers I received had the dates in mmddyyyy format, that this would be the same (see my example above). The ones that I *believe* are expired are Gotland Flader (green), and the one with the date in the mmddyyyy format is Jakobssons Wintergreen, so I would assume they'd use the same format, but I could be wrong.

I guess I'll just try it and see how it is, but they definitely seem drier than they should be. Comparing it to my white portion General, it's drier than that.

Jakobsson's Wintergreen may have the English formatted dating because it's a product geared toward the US market distributed out of the US warehouse.

Thanks...that might be it. It would be nice if they did it like Thunder, where they just spell out the month so there's no confusion

If it says "Bast Fore" with umlats it's dd/mm/yyyy. If it's in English like "Best Before" or whatever it says it's mm/dd/yyyy.

Tell me about it.. I luckily only have a couple of those. I tried to pull off the warning but it would pull off the date as well. So no clue what the date really is.

Not to totally confuse the issue, but with all the changes being made to cans to allow SM and other distributors entrails to America, do you think they could have switched to the MM/DD/YYYY format? Just a thought. I really cant imagine the northerner shipping you snus that is that old. A good tip off would be if there is English anywhere on the printing of the can, its not that old, as all of that stuff came around just before the PACT nonsense.
