I align the second click with the top of the barrel. When I compress the snus I can't feel the plunger move. That's how tightly I pack it from the tin. I showed a friend of mine the pris I made with the IceTool, and it looked tiny when I had it in my hand and then handbaked it. It feels right in my mouth though, and gives a good amount of flavor. I bet my handbaked snus' are at least twice the size of the IceTool's, but I get no difference in pleasure. It's almost like getting 100% more snus in every tin LoL.
You pack the Icetool tight and just give it a little pressure on the plunger and that's it?
I'm seeing if I'm packing it enough, but it seems pretty firm out of the Icetool. I press until I see a little juice come out, back off, and do it one more time.
All of my regular snus' come in a plastic tin, so that makes it easy. I press the IceTool into the tin a bunch of times, and then press it into the bottom and compress the snus. As I said it doesn't feel like the plunger moves at all, but I'm sure it does a tiny bit. I don't pull back and re compress, but I know others do. If I compress the first time and feel the plunger move I will pull the plunger out and refill the tool. When I'm finished I want exactly 2 ticks on the tool after compression.
Just ordered a 3ml Titan Icetool and the following loose snus selections:
- General
- Granit
- Grovsnus
- Göteborgs Rape
- Probe
I've never tried loose, and have only used portions for several months now. I'm really excited to try loose and it's bringing that excitement back that I got when first ordering portions.
I will report back with my thoughts on loose as soon as I try it.
I got my first order of loose today and have my first pris of granit in now. It is great stuff, quite a nic rush. Im not having much trouble with the avalance either, packed it with a prismaster and drinking coffee with it. Loving the flavor.

I can't wait to try the Granit. I've been hearing lots of good stuff about it. I just have to get rid of the snus in my fridge, and I'll be able to get the Granit in my freezer :^)

I tried having a beer with my loose, and it worked alright. Not as easy as with portions, though.
But I didn't feel that need for a drink with loose like I do with portions.
you'll get used to it. eventually you'll be able to drink, speak, etc... with loose in. I was actually at the bar the other night for happy hour and they toss outy a free slice of pizza to everyone at a bar stool at about 6pm every night. I went to town without taking out my pris. It wasnt something I would do regularly, but I also wasnt about to trash the pris I just made either.

This made all the difference to me, thank you! It reminded me of the way you get to the last of your milkshake when there's only a little left at the bottom.
Doing it that way instead of just hand loading it, made the pris much more compact and the Icetool barely moved when I went to push the plunger down.

If you like beer on the flavorful side(stouts, English ales, so on...) you need to get some Gotlandssnus yellow lös. It's got a nice citrus flavor, and a pleasant bitterness that goes perfectly with a robust beer. It's a match made in heaven imo :^)
Btw, try to drink that out of a glass instead of a bottle. Using a glass reveals more flavor, and lets it intermingle with the snus better.

I love porters/stouts, so I will try that, thanks.
I have some of the Gotlandssnus Yellow portions, but they're in the freezer. I will definitely try out the loose, too.
Can't even imagine how hard it is for you American guys to order snus from sweden, I just go to a cruise or drive to a place called Haaparanta to get some

Hush you! :^P
It really isn't too bad in the USA. I would venture to say that we have one of the best situations in the world. We have to place an order and wait, but it doesn't get too much cheaper than what we pay, and we have easy access to almost every snus made. It would be nice to be able to walk to the corner store and pick up a tin, but the snus would probably cost twice as much due to the taxes. Tbh, I wouldn't trade my situation for anything :^)
Edit:
Btw, welcome to the forums. It's good to have another Fin onboard :^)

Exactly, I don't mind the situation at all.
The prices are way better than they would be if I could buy it locally, and the prices are cheaper than buying the Marlboro/Camel versions. Even with shipping.
Plus, there's just something exciting about placing an order and knowing that it's coming from another country just for you. It's like waiting for a Christmas present!
