As of now, you can't bring up harm reduction if you're a manufacturer. FDA doesn't allow it.

And I seriously doubt that Camel or Marlboro would make that the focus of their presentations even if they could. In fact, I wouldn't put it pass them to have covertly pushed/lobbied for that FDA rule!!

Putting all your snus under refrigeration, away from the visible, attention-getting snus, is doing no one any favors. Consumers are accustomed to going to the coolers for 'a cold one' but not for anything they're expected to carry around in their pockets.
Anyway, the law makes the placement issue something of a moot point. Under federal law (not sure if this is in PACT or the new FDA regs), in any store that allows minors to enter, smokeless tobacco has to be out of reach of the customer, either behind the counter or in a locked container. So you can't just have it in an unlocked soda fridge or on the shelf.
As for pushing harm reduction, I agree that would be a strong marketing point, but it causes legal issues as well. I'm not sure if any law specifically prohibits tobacco companies from making harm reduction claims [Edit: per chadizzy, there is one], but they got really burned in lawsuits and PR campaigns for making similar claims about filtered, light, etc. cigarettes in the past.

Cool, something new for the ladies. We need some more new brands stateside for those of us that didn't switch from ultra-sweet minty cigarettes. I'm guessing that 01/02 will be pulled within the next year but me is still hoping that the General Long will be here soon.
