Are you inn Mt Le Conte satying at the LeConte lodge, The aforementioned Frenchmans place is the le Conte inn and you will be discussing rocks with the namesake Joseph Le Conte progeny. Also because of the alum trail and alum cave which really isn't a cave. And the fact that alum was mined there. Also when it rains it pours could be a reference to the 80+ inches of precipt it gets a year. Seriously dog that's all I got man........

Here is a breakdoen of the clues

First you needed to highlite the text to find the clues because they were writen in invisible ink ………………wahahahahah!!!!

Second, you had to figure them out. Here’s their meaning.

Beneath my feet are the Wasatchs, old friends indeed,
but Nebo is not my style
Not mountains but boots—my old pair of Vasque Wasatchs

                  nor gold my greed.
I have not got gold fever and gone west. I’m still in the east

Mitchell’s angst is behind me now, up in smoke as the ol saying goes.
Mitchell refers to Mt Mitchell (the higest peek this side of the Rockies)
Mitchell’s angst refers to the controvery between Thomas Clingman and Elisha Mitchell over which of the two men had been the first to accurately measure the mountain. Mitchell obviously won (but at the cost of his life). Later, Dr. Clingman would have a mountain named after him, Clingman’s Dome (Mitchell’s angst)----- the highest peek in the Smoky Mountains (up in smoke).

However, I am not on Clingman’s Dome. It is behind me. Remember I am not heading out west (gold is not my greed)……………you are to be looking east (east of Clingman’s Dome).

At this point you are looking for two things
                  1. Something to do with mining
                  2. something French
About 5 miles east of Clingman’s Dome is Mt. Le Conte (the only mountain in the Park with a French name). Do a little Googling and you will find it also has the only accommodations in the entire Smoky National Park—“Le Conte lodge”

So I’ll make haste to get indoors
The Frenchman’s place is just up ahead
I’ll rest and dine and then off to bed
There’ll be plenty of time when tomorrow comes
To talk rocks and such with Jacob’s long lost son
About 5 miles east of Clingman’s Dome is Mt. Le Conte (the only mountain in the Park with a French name). Do a little Googling and you will find it also has the only accommodations in the entire Smoky National Park—“Le Conte lodge” which is named for Joseph Le Conte (Joseph- think the coat of many colors- is Jacob’s long lost son sold in to Egypt by his brothers). Joseph Le Conte was of French Huguenot decent, professor of Geology and Chemistry at the University of South Carolina (thus talking rocks and stuff)

Ok but I am not there yet. The Frenchman’s place is just up ahead. Again a little googling would reveal the only way to reach the lodge is by one of 4 trails. At this point it is easy. I GAVE YOU THE NAME OF THE TRAIL IN THE CLUES!!!

What’s yours is mine till my veins run dry
The school is good til the alum all die
The weather’s severe. When it rains it pours.

The trail I am on is the Alum Cave trail, named because of the alum and other mineral mined there (what’s mine is yours).

In 1838 The Epsom Salts Manufacturing Company which was formed to mine the deposits (when it rains it pours – the old salt ad…. as well as a reference to the large anual rainfall that occurs in Sevier county TN the location of the Mountain)

The easily accessible salts were depleted by the mid-1840s, but mining resumed during the Civil War. There is no report on any mining after the Civil War. (thus the veins have run dry and the the alum prospecting died).

Thus when all is said and done: I am on the Alum Cave trail, in the Smoky Mts National Park, Sevier County TN, heading to Le Conte Lodge

So now you know and Blue does too
It was fun but this game is through

But before I go I must add one more line
Nothing profound just a harmess rymn
For no other reason than to mess with PP’s mind
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

                    lol
J/K it really was very entertaining. In an aggravating sort of way.
                    good job
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Damn wish I would have complained about not seeing the clues earlier. I just figured it was a messed up attachment or something my browser wasn't picking up. So I just started taking clues from others context. But if I had seen the original clue sooner I think I woulda got it faster....... Anyways thanks for the game Dog...... P.m. Sent........
