Gotta switch to portions...

The employer is going tobacco free as of 10/1. They have been smoke free for a while, but now smokeless is prohibited. Being the guy I am, I need to buck the system and keep snusing.

I'm a los guy. Regularly use Probe and Gots Grey, also some Ettan in there. I'm not familiar with portions so I need some advice. First - which ya'll think I'll like. Ettan portions are a given. I also got a free tin of Thunder Blue a while back, that one is pretty tasty. I tend to like the sweeter stuff. Not a big fan of the bergamot flavors (the Rape's to name a couple).

Also - regular or maxi? I use about 3.5 notches on the 3 mm icetool. The Thunder Blue portions I have seem okay in size, wouldn't mind something a little bigger. How much larger are the maxis than the regular portions?

They don't really have maxis anymore. You'll have to try a few to see what you like. Grov and Gotland grey would be good choices. I like Gotland yellow also. With Gotland, the portions taste more bitter than the lös, but I find that enjoyable.

My recommendation goes to Jaks Wintergreen. Even if you don't like wg flavor, I think it is at least worth a try. I was not a wg fan prior to trying but Jaks is perfect, not an overwhelming breath mint type of wg, just subtle flavor but probably one of the sweetest swedish snus' I have had, maybe too sweet for your liking. I keep them on hand at all times for when I may only have a few minutes to get a normal sized snus in, nic hits quick!

That blows. I use Los 95% of the time. If I had to do portions all the time I might loose it.

portions are so much easier. i don't think you'll like Gotlands portions though...the portion material is kinda thick.

Grovsnus WP is my #2 (used to be Ettan). 02 and 01 are my #3 and #4 respectively.

I am a bit fan of lös but in my work I am allowed to use Snus but I am facing customers at lot so use portions. So up until I got this job 6 months ago I only used portions now and again.

My everday snus is general white and ettan white. I tend to get through a lot of them as when using lös I am used to a large pinch. But you get used to portion pretty quick. I find the ettan white portions to be slightly peppery in comparison to loose

What I use at work is a combination of Stonewall tablets (only 4 mg of nicotine) and Tre Ankare minis to avoid detection. The Tre Ankare minis have more nicotine than Stonewall.

According to my sources
Stonewall = 4mg per tablet
Tre Ankare = 4mg per portion

"Each regular White portion has 1 gram of snus and there are 24 portions per can. The Nicotine content is 8 mg per portion.

With the Mini White portions, there is about .5 grams of snus per portions and 20 portions per can. Nicotine content in the Mini White portions is 4 mg per portion."

Maybe the initial bite/sting of the Tre gives a greater perceived nic hit?

It sounds like you're using Stonewall & Tre Ankare together; doable since they're each really small.
In any event, you seem to have hit upon a good solution.

The only minis I've come across so far with at least 8mg nic are:
Thunder Frosted Extra Stark Mini
Thunder Frosted Mini
Thunder Original Mini+

Thunder Frosted Long+ has 12mg (comfortable like a mini)

Personally, I enjoy them all.
