    Have I spoken too soon?

    Ok so here's the deal.....

I got super excited at Copenhagen airport last Monday and picked up three tins of General Loose. A bit ambitious in retrospect....

Tried it for the first time this weekend and I have to say that I don't know if loose is for me.

My main points of contention are...

    1. My baking skills suck. Two of the pris's (plural?) I made held together fine and I really enjoyed it. But not much more than portions because I was constantly worried about snus avalanche and swallowing bits (I am still not too keen on that).

    2. My baking skills suck. All the other pris's collapsed and made a mess that I had to spit out soon after putting it in. I read all the other posts and I take the point of just leaving it alone, but I just couldn't get it to do what I wanted it to do - stay put and let me get on with stuff....

Granted, the fact that my baking skills suck tremendously may be impacting my enjoyment ...maybe I should just get a prismaster or Icetool?

Also, I am just reaching the stage of not having my portions run even if I keep them in for 45mins+ (which is a huge improvement on my 20 min attempts a month ago) so maybe its just not for me yet???

I am probably being far too impatient so I am willing to finish the tin and see if things improve......

    Opinions?

I just tried loose this weekend and only used an Icetool (Not sure when, or if I'll try hand baking).

I noticed at first, I was concerned about the snus avalanche, too. Once I made a few prillas, I relaxed more about it, and I am now a loose user for life. The Icetool is great and makes really tight prillas.

I would say, try a prismaster or an Icetool and see if that doesn't help while you practice your hand baking.

      I definitely spoke to soon

      Case in point....

Got home last night after having a normal journey of 20 mins home turned into a hour and a half test of patience by the storms....

Got out the General Loose and managed to bake the best pris yet......popped it in and sat down to do some work......oh sweet bliss!!!......the key for me with the loose seems to be forgetting about it........It didn't move around, create an avalanche or leave bits floating around my mouth....even getting rid of it was easy......a simple hooking action and most of it came out cleanly and easily.....

So in summary....I will be sticking it out with my loose.....but I think an Icetool is somewhere in my future....

I found that getting the prilla out is easiest if you put your thumb and first finger (or middle) and put one digit on each side of the prilla. Then just pull it out and into the sink, toilet, etc.

I've found that to be the easiest way, and better than my original one finger hook.

            No problem.

Just apply light pressure when pulling it out. Too much will result in an explosion.

Stick with it and before you know it you'll be a prilla machine Although portions are ok there is nothing like loose.

I've been using loose for months now and i still haven't mastered removing the pris. I usually just find a bathroom and swipe it out with my index finger right into a toilet or trash can. Then i lap out of the sink and rinse the mud-like snus out of my teeth. Nasty i know, but it's the only downside to using loose.

oh and forget baking. Just buy a prismaster. They're extremely cheap and make life much easier.

Must remember not to get nervous, then. Call me ambitious, but I've decided to throw in a tin of loose with my next (second) order--the Prima Fint, as recommended for its "easy" baking. Not that I'm exactly confident, but I'm positively itching to try some loose snus!

That's not ambitious, yummi4tunekookie! Like nearly everyone of us, you will at first have a few prillas that totally go wrong. After that, loose is pure enjoyment.

                    Cheers!

The same thing happened to me. Tried loose for the first time about 5 days ago. Hated it and hated the fact that I could not bake a pris worth of anything. I watched Zero's film at least 20 times and still It took me 5 mins to bake one. Even before I put in my mouth, It fell apart. I got myself a pris master. now I am so hooked. I love loose and I want to try different kinds. I would not dare going out in public with it but at home, it will be only loose. I got a friend who is driving to sweeden in 2 days, he is going to guy 10 different cans of loose for me. Oh God, I can not wait.
