Does all portion snus suck? (Or did I just get lucky.)

The burn is one of the best parts of a good portion or pris. The burn does go away as your lip and gums get used to it. Maybe I'm just a glutton for punishment or something.

It's not the lip burn I have a problem with, it has a thin tobacco burn in the back of my throat which I dislike. I used to get the same thing from 3 Castles cigarette tobacco. 3 Castles used 100% Virginia tobacco which didn't quite agree with me. Skruf isn't bad, and if that's all there was I'd still use it, but there's others I prefer if given the chance.

Elixyr

I wouldn't judge portion snus on your experience with Elixyr. Small, small time brand, and no factory will own up to producing it. Go for the big names or the Cubans if you can get them. There is a great Montecristo Loose now.

I think that Rape 2 is a great portion snus, although it is a white portion snus. I purchased many different types of snus recently and I am enjoying the Retro portion snus. My mainstay had been Knox, but these juicy Retro portions are great. They are a lot like Knox, but just have more flavor to them. I have to go to buysnus to refresh my memory on how much they cost. They may be my replacement for Knox. One caveat, I like the juicy portions and I suppose the running loose portions for their flavor. If you like this too, go for the Retro. It is almost like having a loose portion in your mouth.

Ettan, Retro, Tre Ankare, and Roda Lacket portions - can't go wrong, different from loose but just as good in their own ways. All are quality.

Can't go wrong with General. Lucky Strike is good, I like the Skruf original, and the Kronan too...

I've got a can of Retro waiting in my freezer, can't wait. Right now my open cans are Granit Los, Goteborgs Prima Fint, Knox Portion, Roda Lacket Portion, Skruff Stark Portion, Montechristo Loose, oh and there's a can of LD Whites that are taking me forever to get through...

The skruff portions are taking a while to grow on me, Knox is great and I'm finally coming around to the Stark... although the portion material Skruf uses seems a bit more rough than the Swedish match products. So far my favorite portions have been all Orginal portions, Nick and Johnny, Lucky Strike and Knox. the "whites" I've enjoyed most are Roda and Gen. Onyx.
