I'm not usually home when the postman arrives, so he leaves a package pick-up slip in my mailbox. I take the slip to the post office where they verify my ID and address (I show them my drivers license), and then I have to sign for the package and pay the applicable taxes. Canada Post collects them on behalf of the CBSA. The legal age in Alberta is 18 and I believe that they will check your age for alcohol or tobacco deliveries.

I should add that if the package slips through customs without inspection, the postman just puts it in my mailbox.
