Can you use a different lip?

Everyone reccomends using the front top lip. Is there any problem using the bottom? or the sides? When I was using gum I had a habit of keeping it in the lower side of my mouth - It is kind of a habit now and if snus will work there I would like to try.
Is it possible? I hear stories of disintergration when a pris is put to the sides.

Check out this topic and you'll see that bottom lip is not recommended. Top left is for me the only way to go.

Thanks, it seems people do vary more than I thought though. I am waiting for my first delivery tomorrow so I will experiment with the first few to see what happens - probably portions first and then when I get used to it I will give loose a go.

I actually experimented with other locations in my mouth after finding that having a portion in was pretty obvious to others. Though I see the drawbacks of snusing anywhere but in the upper lip, I still hope to find another comfortable location in my mouth that will make my snusing more discreet. So far, though, I've been pretty stubborn in sticking with the upper lip, as practice makes perfect!

Snus, chicks, lips..............Oboy do I have a comment for this one. But I'd probably be banned from this site.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

If you put the portion anywhere but up front top, it will leak juice and gross you out.
            That's my experience.
Parrots, no double entendres intended here... :?

I like to put dry portions in my bottom lip first and then move them up top later. I also cheek them if I have to get in conversations.....

For the past 14 months, I have been doing snus wrong. I prefer the portion to be further back, in front of the tooth right next to my rear molar. I have tried to move it more towards the front, but it just doesn't feel right to me, way more noticeable. Do I care???? LOL....He** no!! It works for me, I am happy and I don't give a fu** what others do, or what is "right".

I don't get any more juicing this way, still get my nicotine, and just feels right for me

So do what works for you. Lower lip, go for it!! Under your tongue, if that is your thing, go for it!! Use snus in whatever manner brings you the most pleasure.

I'm doing exactly the same for 17 months!

The upper-front-tooth-thing only seems to work for Swedes. Maybe it's also the answer to the questions, why they (have to) spit their snus out after just 15 minutes and go through a can a day.

I've never tried to bottom-lip loose-snus though, because I just don't believe, that it would work. It's nonetheless worth a try, I guess.

                  Cheers!

I have never understood that either. My way, I can keep one in an hour, an hour and a half, even two hours. When I tried it closer in, I too spit it out way faster.

Worth a try, sure, but for me it wasn't much of a joy. It hurt more than the first time ever and disposing it was quite hard.

Front upper lip is working just fine for me. No alternatives necessary.

Maybe it's just me, but I find the front upper lip doesn't produce any flavor from portions. If I move it back some it produces the flavor a bit faster. Plus it's slightly more discreet if you are in public.

Well, the upper lip is what I use daily, and I can easily have both portions and loose in there for an hour or more without any major problems. :P
Back to topic, putting it in the lower lip does feel good for me, if one can manage to keep all the spit away from there, and that's what I have problems with.

I always put my snus further back, too. As a matter of fact, I tried to put it up front a couple of times, but the pouch automatically slides back to its preferred position, on both sides. My method (and I'm actually a novice) is to alternate between left and right, with the left side as my default position. While shifting, I usually swallow some juice, which is the closest I can get with snus to the feeling of inhaling smoke.

As others have said, it seems much more discreet to put it further back, especially if I'm in a meeting. No one seems to notice my new habit at work. (Anyway, it's a lot more discreet than chewing betel nuts, which is the blue collar habit of choice in my part of the world, ie at 22N 120E)
