Tips for foreign snus users in Poland

If you are snus user and want to move to Poland here are some tips:

Buying snus from abroad is 100% legal (in retail quantities). You cannot sell snus in Poland but you are allowed to import, buy and use it.

You can import it as a private person from online shops (from EU - without any additional taxes). I do. Delivery to Poland is circa 3-7 days. Sometimes delivery takes more times because of customs.

If customs check the package, delivery can take up to 14 days. Customs will not confiscate the stuff - you just receive envelope with customs stamp.
You do not have to pay any additional taxes (if you buy from EU).

Snus is not popular in Poland so people may think that it is kind of drug. Better to not use it in public places, pubs etc. If anyone ask whats that - just say it's tobacco.
Word tobacco is similar to polish "tabaka" (snuff) so everyone understand you.

Selling chewing tobacco/dipping tobacco is illegal. Buying and using is legal.

Selling dry snuff is legal in Poland. You can buy it in tobacco shops.

So, just to get this correctly - what exactly is dry snuff? Nasal snuff? I'm going to Poland in early May and I'm extremely intrested on trying other forms of tobacco.

I haven't seen much tobacco on sale here but as I'm not Polish I probably just don't know the right places to go. (It was nearly impossible for me to find good rolling tobacco - only at a market and bad quality or brands I'm not fond of)
I got my snus in just 4 days(saturday to wednesday so 3 if you miss the sunday) from buysnus. I had no problems with customs stopping it either.
Thanks Mazur for advising me before about getting snus in Poland, I really wasn't sure if it would be a problem but as you said it was fairly easy - I avoided the ebay sellers as I couldn't pay using paypal and I haven't sorted out my cards here yet!

        Yes it's nasal snuff.

In Poland you can buy most popular snuff like Samuel Gawith, Pöschl Tabak, Wilsons of Sharrows products. There are not Polish brands at all.
You can buy Polish homemade nasal snuf in Gdansk on Szewska street near Marianski Church. It is little shop with Kashubians goods (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashubians).

Nasal snuff is not available everywhere. Search for little shops at railway stations and in shopping centers.

I am sorry to raise such an old thread, but the information available on the internet seems rather confusing. I know that Polish snus shops are not allowed continue anymore. But is it still legal to order snus to Poland via the internet?

I think it´s legal to order online, but if you order from outside the EU their might be some customs issues.
