    Refrigerating daily FTW

Just wanted to report a positive change I have made in my snus routine--namely, refrigerating my daily carry portions at night.

For a long time I just kept the can of portions that I carry on a daily basis out of the refrigerator, just leaving them in the pocket of the pants I change out of at night and transfering them the next day. A few months ago, I got an Icetool portion box, so every couple of days I fill it with enough portions to get me through a couple days. Recently, I started getting more and more dissatisfied with the condition of the portions that had been out of the fridge for a couple days compared to the fresher ones from the fridge (especially OPs, less so WPs). So a few days ago I started refrigerating my snusbox at night, and it is making a big difference, keeping my daily carry General OPs much fresher and more enjoyable. YMMV

Glad it's working better for you Langdell. I personally don't care about the snus I'm currently using, and with certain brands like my beloved Odens ES Original I prefer them warm and supple (zing). Thunder Frosted too. On another note, can someone please translate "YMMV" for me? I've been seeing it on here lately and I have no idea what the hell it means. Thanks!

YMMV="Your mileage may vary." I.e., you may experience different results or have a different preference. So, Roo, from your response, it sounds like your mileage does in fact vary.

What I usually do is transfer my daily portions
in the morning straight from the fridge. Seems to work the best.

That probably is the very best way to do it. But I tend to be obsessive about having more than I will probably need so I never run out if I have to work late or whatever. So the result is I wind up carrying some of the portions around for 2-3 days. Anyway, refrigerating them at night really does seem to do the trick. Wish I'd started doing it a long time ago--but I was trying not to become too obsessive about keeping all my snus constantly refrigerated. (Yeah, I tend to have a problem with obsessing about things. )

I used to be that way too for quite a while... always back into the fridge after work. Always! But traders rest assured, I keep all unopened snus in the freezer in ziplocks.

I've learned my lesson and only
open one can at the time, the most
                    two.

I now have like 30 cans open and
most of them are slowly drying up
slowly. I have to hydrate them so often..

My stash is back in the freezer.

I try to keep only 2 maybe 3 open cans in the refrigerator (the rest of the stash stays in the freezer in ziploc bags). One can leaves the house with me on the way to work in the morning. That can will make it back to the fridge as soon as I get home. Los stays fresh and moist for 1+ weeks this way. I generally only use ekstra sterk so I go through about 1 can a week.

I hate cold anything. Even drinks I like room temp. When I open a new snus I pull it from the freezer, let it aclimate to room temperature for about 6 hours, then keep out until it's gone.

The moment I recieve a shipment of snus it goes into my freezer and a portion never leaves until after I use it. It gets pretty chilly sometimes tho. But I get to spend time with the gals [and parts of gals] in my freezer that way. works for me.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Hey, PP, I thought of you last night as I watched the PBS special on crows.

It was noted that parrots have the largest brain of all birds but that crows, who have
one of the smallest bird brains, were the smartest of all birds and nicknamed the
apes of the bird world for all their cunning (and their linguist abilities were on a
                            par with chimps).

Crows are also as adept at toolmaking as chimps and more ingenious.
