    Altoids Mini Container

As a woman and not quite ready to come out of the snus closet to everyone, I've been carrying my daily snus supply in a mini Altoids tin I also keep what's left from the day in it overnight and add to it in the morning.
I just want to make sure that this will not harm (ruin snus flavor). Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any pics with the mini Altoids tin? Don't know what that is :^)

I usually keep some opened cans on my desk (around 20 Celcius in the room) and don't use any containers ...... sometimes I take my snus in the icetool can

also ordered a special edition one for the dip (i take dip once or twice a day)

The flavor is usually ruined once the snus completely or almost dries up and then you rehydrate it...............I have noticed a complete change in flavor............

I would recommend running the container under hot water, in order to eliminate the mint flavor from the Altoids. The can itself won't alter the flavor of snus.

I wouldn't keep snus in the tin overnight. It doesn't have a very tight seal, and will dry out worse than the factory tin. If you're happy with the results though, that's all that matters.

Thanks for the tips. I had noticed a little drying out over night, so will return them to their original container at night.

I agree it doesn't seal well. But wanted to warn you about keeping close tabs on whatever can/tin/thing you decide to use, especially if it's labeled as food or candy. You don't want some kid or somebody suck on one thinking it's a mint! I'm sure you're already really careful about that but maybe someone else will read that and be more careful.

I use the same thing for carrying at work (no tobacco policy). The mints themselves are very good too! I liked the little box so much I sent some spares out in a box pass I was in. Fits plenty of Thunder frosted minis.
It doesnt seal well at all, but I put just enough for work and then refill it the next day.
The next time I order snus Im going to upgrade to one of the new icetool cans, but the altoids mini container works well enough for the time being.

A no tobacco policy at work? Do you work in a school or something? That's the only place where I can think of them telling you you can't use a product like snus.

Im a cop. We used to be able to use any type of tobacco and then they decided no smoking in the squads. After that someone left a clump of dip in one of the squads. The guy using the squad after him complained (rightfully so as I would complain about having to clean up someone's used dip too) so instead of dealing with the guy who did it the chief simply said no more tobacco of any kind in the station or squads.

That's terrible. Officers should be able to smoke or use tobacco if they choose to...sounds like it's extremely localized though.

Those Altoid tins are great! I occasionally use a tin for whites but normally just stick to Northerner's mini portions while out and about. I hate round cans and trying to open those discreetly in public, in the bottom of a small purse and not dump the entire can is near impossible!

I used one to keep nasal snuff in. It dosen't seal very tight, and some can come out at the hinge, but it worked OK.

Thanks everyone! I don't have any kids, but my dog loves mints, so I'm very careful to keep them out of her reach which isn't too hard being she's a mini dachshund

I carried all of my snus in a Northerner mini can while in Army training. I just peeled the stickers off the can and everyone thought it was a candy container.
