Does anyone know if their is a can with compartments so you can store more than one portion variety so they don't mix together? I made a hillbilly version out of an old General Mint White portion can and some tygon tubing. Seems to work fairly well as I originally put three portions on each side and shook pretty hard and they stayed put. This can has the lid-in-lid design but it may work better with some of the cans without this feature...anyone know what brands feature no lid-in-lid design?

this has been discussed a lot.
people have made different types.
this is a good idea (hey ice! ahem, ahem) for those who use more than one type/brand throughout the day.
so far the closest thing i've found is the new Icetool Can with the Catch Lid. I put one type in the catch lid and another in the can body itself.

The problem is the aroma from the snus. I find that they mix if they're in the same can. Forget putting a mint in there, if you do the other snus will taste like mint. I used to do what Chad does with the catch lids, but I've been using the catch lid for spent portions. I find that the small containers work best. Also, 10g snuff containers such as the ones from Toque work well, but the metal is flimsy.

I use a piece of styrofoam to divide the can and only put 2 of the same in that can (2 wintergreen 2 mint 2 original) if there is 2 different original in the can I put wintergreen in the catch lid or mint. I also carry a mini can with 2 more in it if I want a big variety. To answer your question Loose cans do not have a catch lid.

Do the metal Ice Tool cans have catch lids? There are a few snus that don't use cans with this option. I think it's very useful and I prefer it. Of course if it's cleaned it doubles as a separate portion holder. I sometimes stick a couple of sterks in there so I have some power of I feel so inclined. Then I don't have the use of the spent snus storage unless I just stick the sterks in with the portions. Sometimes It's hard to discipher. I don't want a can that has a lid that I have to worry about lining up with the bottom. That frustrates the crap out of me. Funny thing is the non-catch-lids are usually like that.

I'm amazed with how rough I am on my cans though. I use a Taboca one sometimes 'cos I think it's slick lookin' but I end up denting it a little and scratching it faster than I thought I would. It's mostly due to carrying it in a pocket with other things. I think Gotlands cans are the best for the snus but no bin for spent snus. Probably would be the best can for a 2 compartment rig 'cos the lids are snug.

Thats why I use a Lucky Srike Bold can for all my snus. It closes "in the middle" so it seals great, has a catch lid on the bottom, and is tough as hell. I rarely carry more than two types of snus with me, so it works out great. I never use the catch compartment for used portions, I put a few portions of a second flavor in there instead.

On a side note, I am definitely impressed with the Slim Can. Very sleek and aesthetically pleasing, extremely slim design that makes it perfect to carry around without the bulk of some other regular larger cans. The aluminum is a nice touch as well, gives it a nice little weight that makes the can nice and sturdy.
