First topic, first post. I just wanted to write about how excited I am not only to have found this great product, but also how it helped me quit a 20-year, pack-a-day smoking habit in a single day!
My first order arrived Wednesday, two days ago. I had my first portion (Goteborg's Rape') that night close to midnight. It was love from the start - well, after I put two in my lip to make sure I was getting the nicotine I needed. (It was shortly after this that I ordered some Skruf Stark and N&J for those serious nic-fits.)
I had a cigarette about 24 hours later, just to see what it was like. Oh man, it was so nasty! Everything about it was nasty. Not only that but I'm having a difficult time coping with the nasty cigarette smell on everything I own. I really don't know how I put up with it for so long, how I'd convinced myself I enjoyed it. Well, I think I know now, actually: Nicotine has a very powerful hold on me and was able to make me rationalize all sorts of crazy stuff, including the state of my health, among many other things. Now I'm working on breaking all those quirky smoker's habits I had, but I actually find it fun to exist in what I feel is somehow a new me, so it's not too difficult.
Snus is just one of a series of nicotine alternatives I've tried in the past, except the other methods have failed miserably. The first attempt, amusingly, was with a hookah. I thought it would help me cut down. A couple of years after that came the gum, then the pipes on two occasions, which were actually enjoyable, but even the strong English stuff couldn't quite fulfill my desire. But snus is working like a dream. It's amazingly effective for me, and seems to have so many positive advantages. Meanwhile I get to keep my precious nicotine! Magic.
I was born in Sweden, to a Swedish mother, and a relative or two of mine have been snusare, so I don't really know why it's taken me so long to catch on.
I feel like I've put a long, stupid era behind me, and that it's all increasingly smooth sailing from here. Woohoo!
