I keep all of my snus in the freezer. Everyday I take out the can that I am going to be using that day. My question is this: Is it ok to keep freezing and unfreezing the snus like that, or should I take a few cans out and keep them in the fridge until their used up and then take some more out and keep those in the fridge, etc.

I think freezing it once shouldn't be a problem for most of the snuses. However, I wouldn't do this procedure repeatedly. Better keep the ones in the fridge, you will use up until the expiration date is reached. Then only take what you need out of the freezer and let them defrost over night in the fridge. So, you will preserve the flavour as good as possible.

Kinda unrelated, I have some Gotlands Yellow portions that went out of date on Jun 1st, do you guys think they will still be good? Never frozen, always kept in the refrigerator.

The only way to tell is try one and see. I think it'll still be ok. In any case, it won't be harmful to you bad, but it could lose some flavor from sitting around.Originally posted by itchystichesKinda unrelated, I have some Gotlands Yellow portions that went out of date on Jun 1st, do you guys think they will still be good? Of course, they are! The date on it says 'best before' not 'brackish after'.Originally posted by itchystichesKinda unrelated, I have some Gotlands Yellow portions that went out of date on Jun 1st, do you guys think they will still be good? Never frozen, always kept in the refrigerator.

I do the same thing as Gentlemanly. I have not had any problem with off flavors or freezer burn. I have only been doing this for about six months. Before, I used to take one can out at a time and use it up. Now that I have so many different types of flavors to go through I am continually taking snus in and out of the freezer. No problems as of yet.

I keep some of my snus at the bottom of the freezer in the garage (the one that doesn't get opened very much). I found thru experience that if i keep my snus in the kitchen freezer (which gets opened up nearly daily) that the taste of the snus is a little "off" after awhile.
