I am 52 and just took up dipping and snus without having a nicotine addiction. I quit cigs like 30 years ago cold turkey. I also figured I wanted something else now in my life, another bad habit. Plus, I found that nicotine cures all the diseases I was worried about getting. So I figured I wanted to get addicted to it. My body rejected the nicotine right off the bat, but I persisted. Now I sleep better and worry less, work harder at work etc.... I drink less since starting tobacco. I lost over twenty pounds and have about ten more to go to my goal. Instead of leaning on food, I am leaning on tobacco. I guess I could lean on Jesus too right?

Did you know that nicotine immediately minimizes the effects of tourettes syndrome? I got criticized for swearing at work and snus ought to help me with that too!

Oh, I used to get these horrible gut pains.... nicotine cures ulcerative colitis.

Oh, I couldn't pay attention.... nicotine cures ADD

my fathter has dementia and I have a CRS memory .... nicotine prevents alzheimers.

Oh, I was getting depressed.... nicotine is an antidepressant.

My mother has schizophrenia, it runs in my family .... nicotine benefits schizophrenia.

    sometimes there are beneficial addictions....

That's why tobacco is still so popular, despite of all the propaganda and BTW, I understand the propaganda against smoking, it is exaggerated for sure, but not that much, smoking really is damn hazardous, but the propaganda against tobacco in every form is only because of the fact, that our 'honoured' politicians can get more kickback from the pharmaceutical industry.

      Cheers!

Then go ahead and try it! Errors are there to be made...
If you need to get addicted, than snus is for sure something on the safer side.

By all means, go for it. If you are going to become addicted to anything, snus is BY FAR the lesser evil.

Don't feel like an idiot. All of us were young and stupid once. And I don't think any of us would change much of what we did then. Makes us who we are today.

Although I would never "recommend" someone starting with nicotine, I suspect that you will end up smoking if you don't try snus first. So at least you are doing it the safest way possible.

Have fun, figure out who you want to be, not who you are "supposed" to be, try not to do anything TOO stupid, and just enjoy what new discoveries life brings you.

And if you find yourself addicted one day to nicotine and want to stop, you can. I can promise a few days of NOT fun, but it is doable if you want it bad enough. I have been addicted to many things in my life. Most I don't do any more. I have kept what I think is both safe and enjoyable, the rest I left behind. But I am grateful for the lessons that journey brought me.

To echo once again what these fellas have said, if you'd like to try snus, by all means try snus. We're certainly not waving flags here, we just want to be honest--if you use it regularly, you will become addicted to nicotine and there are health risks, however minimal.

We love snus here, but to be honest again, if I could go back to age 19 and do it all again, I would never have touched tobacco in the first place. So I pass that on to all who express interest in using tobacco, whatever the form.
