Loving the Hillbilly Method

For any of you who are fans of Los may or may have not tried this method.

I had tried it before in the past with mixed results so I just used an Icetool or handbaked.

The past few days I have been trying this method as a way to get a bit more flavor and combat prillas that go in cylindrical but as soon as they start to break up turns to a mega mudslide.

I noticed with the hillbilly method that if you just form a wedge and compress this wedge in the can it holds shape nicely. I then Left my upper lip and shove that bad boy as far up as I can and use my index finger to firmly pack it once more then remove my finger and place the lip over it.

At first there were bits that were free roaming so I allowed my mouth to salivate and spit them out, old fashion dip style, and then that was it. No more problems.

The good thing is I can laugh without worrying about crushing a formed pris or having a weird looking deformed upper lip. It is much more comfortable, and if left alone will deliver more flavor and last just as long as a handbaked one.

Now I did this with Ettan so I cant say all will hold up as well but I would imagine it shouldnt be a problem.

As of right now I am really digging this, the only draw back is that you will tend to swallow a tad bit more tobacco material and removal can be a bit messy, but nothing a swish of water will fix.

Since I have a young child and use los at home, I was trying to figure out something to combat the same problem. The last thing I wanna do is touch something like a toy or his drink and have him get any tobacco/juice residue.
My solution is to carry a travel/sample size hand sanitizer bottle and give a squirt if I can't wash my hands. The alcohol in the sanitizer seems to wash off all "brown-ness", and seems like a good stop gap fix.
Just my method if a sink isn't available. Oh and just buy a huge ass bottle of the sanitizer for like 4 bucks to refill your trial size one.

By the way.......I hillbilly almost all the time......with a baked priss and lower liper thrown in from time to time

Never used the icetool properly. I make the form but then flatten it a little with my fingers and place. Full hillbilly attempts have always left me with mud teeth towards the end.

Yeah, I do the same. i only use the icetool to keep my fingers and hand when forming a pris, but place it by hand.

i stumbled upon another method. it only works with a finely ground, higher pg snus. skruf and general work. and it has to be cold. straight from the fridge or freezer. failing these requirements, you will get a mouth full of mud.

you pick some out with your fingers, not packing it together at all, and drop it on your tongue. then you sorta roll it into a ball with your tongue against the back of your closed lips, and slide it up into place. essentially, you're introducing a bunch of moisture evenly into the prilla. the nic, and the flavor hit much faster.
