    eating while snusing?

okay, the turkey leftovers were calling my name so i hacked off a piece of meat (Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmeat!) and tried to eat it while enjoying a some General los. FAIL! i got the turkey down but not before it grabbed part of my in situ "gum turd"! FRAK, now i have to repinch some los because the turkey got jealous. DAMN TURKEY!

how do you guys eat while snusing? or is it verboten?

I never eat while snusing. Rarely I will take a drink of something while snusing. When I first started I think I tried eating a few times but I used to drink and snus often. I donno, I guess after a while I gave up eating and drinking for snus..... or something like that haha.

I very very rarely eat when I'm snusing. I also have come to strongly prefer pure water instead of sodas, not to disrupt the nicotine-delivery, which highly depends on an alcaline mouth flora, that's destroyed by so called "sodas" which indeed mostly are soured. But, of course, I'm not religious about it, otherwise I'd have to quit drinking beer.

As StuKlu already said, eating with portions is no problem. Just use the other side of your mouth to chew the meal. With lössnus, I've never tried to eat something. Timing my snus-consumption in a way that it won't interfere with meals just has become second nature to me, in the same way that I almost never felt the need to smoke in the middle of a meal.

        Cheers!

I /can/ eat with lös and portions, but I prefer not to. The food pollutes the taste of the snus, and I have some concerns about tooth rot. If you get food mixed with your snus, you likely won't realize it, and it'll spend time compressed against your teeth. That can lead to acidification, and holes in your enamel. Snus is actually good for teeth, but if you add food to the mix, that benefit is eliminated, and could even go the other way.

Same here. I can eat with snus but don't because when I eat, I want to taste the food and when I snus, I want to taste the snus. Drinks, always do them together! I drink a lot of Iced tea and I find that the tea helps to enhance some of the flavors in the tobaccos. :-)

Snus has a fairly high ph(average is around 8.5), so it neutralizes acid in your mouth. It isn't all roses though. While it benefits teeth, it's hard on the gums. You could end up with some recession, but people are different, and you get that as you age anyway.

Hmm... I wonder if chewing an antacid like Tums or Rolaids with snus in would raise ph levels further and increase the flow of nicotine. I'm not a scientist and don't plan on trying it but the thought just occurred to me.

I can only add to what's been said! Occasionally I find myself with both in my mouth and wish I had remembered I had a snus in - the food kind of gets all over the snus and ruins both things.

                            Drinking & snus = yes
Sleeping & snus = double yes (as long as you are in a hotel room or have a brown pillowcase!)
                            Eating & snus = nope
                            69 & snus = you'd have to ask GN - I'm not that adventurous.
