does anyone use a converted oral syringe for measurinig los?

who does this? what barrel diameters? what volumes? what sizes are you making your prillas? i know these are cheaper than an ice tool, lighter and have better measurements. someone has to be "pushing plastic" somewhere.

    I just use a Prismaster. They're like $3.

I did this for a long time. I prefer a 3ml syringe and just eyeballed the amount. Try to get a syringe without a rubbed o ring or you will be cleaning it a lot.

I make small prillas, equivalent of Mini portions, so I prefer the "syringe" that was included in Paracetamol syrup for my kids as a measuring tool. It´s a bit thinner than injection syringes and the prilla can be a tad longer.

I tried it but could not get it packed as tight as I like. When I get a can of loose maybe a quarter down I use the icetool and portion it and then leave it in the can. Easier for me than handbaking and it does keep the prilla form if you don't shake the can much.

Better to me than the 5 ml.

                  follow up:

when using a converted syringe (and i would imagine a prismaster or icetool) its MUCH better to use the plastic lid as a tamping surface, if your los comes in a fiber can. otherwise, the pressure of the tool and its edges can chip or scratch up the paraffin and fiber, and you do not want that stuff in your snus/mouth. it seems that the tighter the prilla the longer it takes to juice/drip but it also seems to stay in place better and not slip or fall apart.

                  YMMV!

Agreed! Remember, the tighter you make it, the more uncomfortable it will become in the lip as well. It's a fine line but with practice, you'll find your comfort level. :-)

This is a great idea for someone that just wants to try los snus without buying an icetool. If they do prefer los then it would be time for an icetool. I have tried los snus but it just isn't for me. Do many women use los snus? I wouldn't think so. Its so messy at times. I will stick with my portions.
                      Good idea tho. Thanks
My God, it's full of stars!

I have used a free syringe from the pharmacy, for kids cough syrup I think, just cut the tip off.....the one I got was small in diameter and worked well.

CVS will give you one for free if you ask.

I use one with Odens Extreme los but really as a portion limiter. I could sprinkle that stuff on a salad. I don't think that wax or even plastic will be harmful to you...think mouthpieces, etc. Mine has finally cracked which I thought was going to be a problem but it actually makes the pris less tight which of course is a good thing as mentioned above. The rest I just pinch and form a little then toss it up there. It took years to just work it with my fingers correctly. I couldn't imagine dropping $40 on an ice-tool or even $10 on something for this purpose.

It's a good idea to use the plastic one IMO.

I strongly agree with this! When I use los, I use the 3ml hypo.
