    snus and tea

im talking snus and loose leaf tea

combinations i have tried and enjoyed

    *****

general los & lapsang souchong oak (black)
    * LS tea is NOT for beginners ... its flavor is very strong and can be off-putting for those new to loose teas
    * LS tea would likely not pair well with a snus that does not have a 'smoked' flavor or aroma

general original portion & earl grey (black)

offroad original los & earl grey (black)

general los & genmaicha (toasted green)

    *****

overall, tea is a great adjunct to snus due to its subtlety acidity and (typically) not overwhelming flavors

as a general rule, understand how to make your tea BEFORE combining it with a snus hit. if your tea is tannic, (due to oversteeping and/or using overly hot water) which is always undesirable, it will spoil your mouth making the snus flavors register oddly.

Always loved Earl Grey with General snus. The Bergamot in the Earl Grey reinforces the Bergamot in General. I like Black teas, like English Breakfast blends or with no additional flavorings, with tobacco flavors such as Ettan and Phantom Classic.

someone told me that bergamot tasted like aftershave. i then smelled a bottle of old spice and i could smell the resemblance but it wasn't quite identical. point: its definitely unique. some love it some hate it (just like black salty licorice).

I normally drink 5 to 6 cups of organic white peony a day and it seems to work well with any non flavored snus.

Funny you should say that. A friend of mine noted that exact same comparison. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here typing this, after just having a Salmiak Lakerol pastille, drinking Earl Grey Tea, with a General Tailored portion in...

One more for Earl Grey tea....generally I'm an espresso fiend, but the occasional EG with a General flavor works nicely for a change.

Plain ole ordinary black tea (lately I most prefer Barry's tea) and Grov white...then again I can't think of anything that would be bad with Grov...'cept chicken.

Now I'm having my after-dinner Thunder Original and some crap Tetley tea. Still good.

Man, I haven't posted here in a heck of a long time. Gotta get back to that.

It's not precisely tea - but straight, unsweetened yerba maté (hot or iced) goes really well with Goteborgs Rapé wp.
