    Snus and Worms

    Ok Friends, I'm not sure where to post this but here it is. I do alot of fishing and I grow my own worms and night crawlers for bait. Since I've been snusing I have been saving the spent portions and after they dry out I will mix the contents with the coffe grounds to feed the worms. I've been doin this for about a year now and I'm noticing that the worms are alot larger and that all this years babies have a light blueish, almost blue gray color to them. These worms are supposed to be a reddish-brown color. Another thing I noticed was that they are freakin FAST too. These are the wigglyest worms I have ever encountered. Also, the fish LOVE em and it seems the worms can lure them from quite far away. Does anyone have any idea why? Its killin my friends cuz I'm catchin fish like crazy.
    Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

    I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

    I'm gonna report you to PETA. Addicting your worms to nicotine at such a young age, shame on you.

      HAHA! good for you for composting and growing your own bait! They are simple organisms. I'm sure it's possible that the nicotine is enhancing them, or maybe just the sugars and salts get them hopped up. Either way, that's a great anecdote, let us know how the fishing is this summer. I'm going up to Ross Lake in the North Cascades for a yearly trout trip. No bait up there, no trble hooks, hell, not even any BARBED hooks. They really make you work for it, so we use Dick Nites and Triple Teazers with smashed or filed barbs and sometimes just wait all day, maybe I'll secretly infuse some fat worms with nicotine!

          I turned blue once when I put two strong portions in at the same time. Poor worms. :cry:

              It will be interesting to see how it continues to affect them through the generations.

                Update;

                Almost all my worms are blueish now. Fiesty as can be. Attracting fish to the max. So all is good. Now, when I go to feed them I think they know that I have snus/coffe grounds. Alot come out of hiding as soon as they hear me comming. Then they line up to eat like proper lil wormies. I shit you not!! Its so cute.

                  nicely done Parrots! My previously mentioned trout trip was good, I came home with 2 nice 14"+ rainbows, most of the other guys caught or exceeded their limit for each day up there, at an average of maybe 8-10 fish taken home by each guy, of course I did a lot more lake and woods exploring than fishing, but the trout were great. I mentioned to my uncle, who takes liberties with regulations and rules about your snus/worm story, he laughed and only half-jokingly said he'd like to bring some nicotine-bolstered worms up next year. :shock:

                          Sorry it took me so long to get a photo. I transfered all the baby worms to a seperate bin so they are pretty much all on the top of the compost in the photo.

                              That's where gummy worms come from. They just roll them in sugar :^P
