So, I'm so far, strictly a portion guy. I read on a retail site (not buysnus) that "dry portion pouches" do not have as many storage limitations as loose snus. I froze several portion cans to use at a later date, but the ones I'm using now, I go through pretty swiftly...like half a portion can a day. I keep my open portions inside my Meinl Cajon, it's a rubberwood/siam oak 'afro-cuban' box drum that you sit on and slap with your hands. It has a saucer-sized opening in the back similar to that of an acoustic guitar, where a mic may be placed. I keep my various open portion cans in a ziploc freezer bag and sit them inside this cube-shaped hollow drum. It seems to work great, almost like a humidor, even when my open portions aren't bagged. It keeps them incredibly cool too. Just wondering how other portion users store their babies?
Does portion reallyneed to be fridged?

In my pocket. If i open a can it stays with me till the bitter end. If not opened in the fridge. I have kept white portion snus in my pantry its cool and dark. They are just as fresh as in the fridge. I do not like cold snus. I mainly use loose. I will bake a pris and let it sit a couple minutes to harm up. About the portions i go threw them in about 2 days as well. Just as long as you keep your cans un-open, i don't see a problem where you store them.

I keep my opens in the fridge for two reasons. I think cold snus is just better, and sometimes I have so many opened, it might be a month before one gets finished. But in my earlier days, when I was always careful to just have one open at a time (Don't laugh, I was young and stupid), the cans usually never made it back in the fridge. Over a couple of days, I never noticed any issues.
Unopened live in the freezer, cause I just have so much it might be 4 months before I ever get to it.

Re: Does portion reallyneed to be fridged?
I recently went on a 11 day trip, and brought with me 5-6 tins of regular portion. Being relatively new to snus, I was concerned that it'd "spoil," but that wasn't the case at all. Room temp portion snus definitely has a different opening flavor, but none of the product went bad.
When I'm at home, though, I keep all of it in the fridge. Like many others here, I'll sometimes take one tin out for the day, and return it when I get home.

thanks guys! good info, I had pinged emails to and fro with Mr. ULZ re: refrigeration and freezing. I was just sketched out about the fridge thing as my mom is vehemently anti-tobacco (I'm living with the folks again after a long year of serious health/lung issues). Mr. ULZ suggested I get a mini fridge for my living quarters, throw a cloth over it to use as a nightstand. A great idea! But, turns out I overestimated ma's reaction. She's just glad I'm not smoking, as my pops has 1 lung. Sorry for the longwinded reply and thanks everyone.

I only refridgerate.
I opt not to use the freezer because the cans ive taken out and let thaw seem to have a much more muted flavor.
Plus im just paranoid about freezing snus for what ever reason i guess.
I currently have 11 cans of Skruf Stark in the fridge, 3 cans of Skruf Razz and 3 cans of Skruf Orig portions in the fridge as well. Plus one can of Phantom Los.
I will keep in the fridge unless the Best Before date is coming up then ill freeze them and use as needed.
I use freezing only if i have to.
