Don't worry about it. It's made to be used and that includes some time out of the fridge.

It's good to store in in the fridge, but you don't really even have to put it back into the fridge at night if you only are using one can - since it's only going to be open for what? 3-4 days maybe a week?

Good job on the quitting smoking!

      Congrats and welcome!

It doesn't need to go back in the fridge.

When you start opening five and ten cans as you begin to figure what you like, you might want to keep them rotating in and out of the fridge if they will be open for extended periods of time. The heating/cooling cycle never affected any snus negatively for me.

At one time I had I think it was 18 open cans. If you got something like that going on and you don't know what you're going to finish first, then I would keep them in the fridge inside an empty peanut butter/french onion dip glass jar to keep from drying out.

Nowadays I only have 2 cans open at any one time and they never see the inside of the fridge. I know they'll be empty within a week or two and they're just fine sitting on my desk or in my pocket.
As long as you don't bake them in the summer sun on the dashboard of your car, they'll be fine.

I keep all mine in the freezer.

One can will come out during the day and it will go back in the freezer when I get home. If I'm home and snusing I'll just pull out a portion of a prilla and put the can back in the freezer.

                Welcome to SnusOn!

The only cans I keep in the fridge are the unopened ones. All the rest stay out because, to justin's point, they'll be gone in a week. When I started a few years ago, ALL my cans lived in the fridge but I learned that as long as you don't leave them in the car during the summer, they'll be fine. Loose, on the other hand, always lives in the fridge because I like a cold prilla!

As long as you are going through the can in a reasonable amount of time (2-5 days) then don't worry about it. I always put mine in the fridge at the end of the day but its just a personal preference nothing like a ice cold portion first thing in the morning

                      How Long in the Freezer

I am sure this has been broached before but my search facility is not working right.

My collection of snus is getting quite sizable and I am starting to get worried about storage.

From what I have heard you can keep your snus in the freezer for up to a year. Is this just an off the cuff statement, is a year a sensible outer limit or is its longevity much longer if frozen in sealed bags.

                      Cheers

                      Andy

                        Welcome to SnusOn!

Most of the snus I use has been in the freezer for a year or more in ziplock freezer bags. I've never had a problem with freshness.

I recently bough a vacuum sealer for my pact stash which I expect to store in the freezer for over a year before use.

I have snus that's going on 3 years old, and it's mostly pretty good. None of it has gotten outright bad, but some are a bit lacking. The subtler flavors have washed out. Others are as good as new, virtually no difference.

The "up to a year" statement seems like a guess to me. I mean, I've mistakenly eaten pot pies that were 3+ years old and didn't notice any difference.

I guess we'll see. I expect some of my SnusX to last 5 years (double sealed and deep frozen.)

                              Good to know.

What temp is your freezer and do you vacuum bag?

I have no idea about the temperature; it freezes stuff :^D

I use EZ zip bags, and what I do is leave a ~2" hole, suck out the air with my mouth, then zip the bag shut while sucking. It vacuum seals it to some extent, but not so great tbh. I doubt doing it that way accomplishes much, but it's easy enough, so I do it :^)
