Another suggestion..

I also use Freshvac Vacuum Containers for storing my opened snus in the fridge...
I've not had any dry out on me so far in 3 months time.


(Snus is classified as produce, right?)

All you do is press down on the closed cover and, voila -- vacuum sealed!!
They're available in sets or as individual containers.

Mine were given to me as a gift more than a year ago (BJs had them);
wish they still had 'em!! I'd even settle for a large FoodSaver Container.

Walmart has 2 sets listed but no single containers:

Looks like Site-to-Store is the best option (no shipping charges) --
That may be the only option since I haven't been able to find any locally.

Thanks for the leg work snusgetter. I have to stop in at the Walmart after work today and I'll see if they have any in stock. I could use some moAr tupperware type containers anyhoo as many of mine seemed to have found 'legs' in the past two years thanks to my Ex.

Once you start taking a can out in the heat and then back in the fridge everyday, they dry out faster and should be used.

Any thoughts on whether it's better to (a) put a can of loose that you are carrying with you during the day back in the fridge at night or (b) once you have taken the can out of the fridge for daily use, just leave it out until it's gone rather than back and forth to the fridge?

With portions, I don't re-refrigerate the can I carry daily. And the portions I carry around will normally be used within 2-3 days after coming out of the fridge. I use a lot less loose--only started using loose at all last month, and so far it's seeming like a can will probably last me 1-2 weeks.

After a little research, I decided to get a couple sets from freshvac.com;

How do I create a vacuum seal?

• Be sure the edges of the lid and container are clean and dry.
• For PROFESSIONAL & PLUS lines: Place the lid on top of the container, matching handles over tabs.
• For the PRE line: Snap the locking handles into place.
• Press lever down into closed position.
• Push firmly on the center of the lid several times to remove the air from inside the container.
• Each successive time you press, more air is forced out of the container, causing the vacuum indicator button to become inverted.

How do I release a vacuum seal?

To release a vacuum seal, lift the green lever. It's that simple.
