The pinch method

Just thought I'd bump this thread to see if anyone has any newfound success with the pinch method.

Actually, I've been using it almost exclusively, but I still do drop crumbs everywhere...not sure how to fix that. I love it though, it's much quicker than handbaking or Icetooling and the flavor is right there for you. My fingers get a bit dirty during the day, but I've started carrying a handkerchief of sorts for cleanup.

No, but I can FINALLY handbake just as good as a prismaster. :wink: Still of the 'portion at work, los at home' mindset.. and heck if I am already at home, who cares if my hands get a little dirty from baking.

Got hooked on Prima Fint recently tho, and since its not portion, I may practice doing the farmer pinch to prepare for grabbing a quick one at the office. Will let you guys know how it works.

Yep, it's all I do now. I sometimes firm it up a little in my fingers first if I'm out in public.

I'm pretty much farmering it 100% of the time if I have a relatively fresh can. I'm finding that if it gets a little dry, some baking is necessary to make it stick together.

I guess it all depends on what you're looking for in that pris, a quick hit, or a long, mellow session.

I've been playing with some LD. I've found that this is absolutely true! When I farmer it, I get the crap fingers and loose stuff, but the flavor and NIC hit is awsome! When I pack it with the pris tool, it's not as dramatic in it's effect...... Just had a hiccup session...prolly the drink, not the LD. LD friggin ROCKS! (That's the NIC buz talkin... 8) )

Is it possible to "hillbilly" a pinch if the can is right out of the fridge, or does it need to be room temperature?

Either way works, but if it's out of the fridge it tends to already be slightly more condensed. I like to farmer skruf stark in the mornings. The rest of the time I bake because it's fast, easy, and a nice ritual with my hands (ex-smoker here ).

Yeah, I haven't noticed a difference really, unless you count that when it's room temp, sometimes I have to roll the pinch over and repinch it occasionally to get it to stick together.

By the way, I tried giving a pinch a quick palm bake, and then put it on my tongue and sticking it up top with my tongue...it works great, and actually seems to cause the pris to stick together better. I think I've heard this mentioned before, but if you guys haven't, maybe give it a try, I kind of like it.

I use the bonde method EXCEPT when using Gotlands Gul.

It just falls apart and even when i get it up their it just feels strange.

A nice pris or icetool pris feels right while a lumpy mound scattered in my top lip just isnt enjoyable.

I can just pinch and place with Offroad, General, and even Skruf too but the Bonde method isnt meant for Gotlands.
