    BOTTOM LIP?

i know bottom lip is like a no-no...but im so used to it from American stuff that it just feels so weird, and i kinda feel weird walking around with a big upper lip, because everyone here "chews", what have you, Copenhagen...and i guess im just wondering if there is a good brand of snus that i can get, but not in portions...because i like loose, something maybe that will stay together well. My understanding is that its the water in it that makes it goto mush, and fall apart.

so in a nutshell...is there a good brand or style of los that i can just drop in my bottom lip just as i would an American product and go?

    thanks guys.

The universal answer is pretty much no. I guess if you were brave you could get some Offroad Long Cut (which I haven't tried yet), but I've heard it's got some decent "holding-together" power. But, if everyone around you dips, and you feel, I dunno, "left out" or different for putting your snus in your upper lip, I think you should ask yourself which is more important to you, having a mud-free mouth, or "fitting in". Snusing is definitely NOT something that everyone does. However, maybe if you used it the way it was intended and your friends asked you about it, maybe you could start a new trend.

I'm sure you could lower lip it, but there's so many reasons not to... If you catch any grief for it, you can use these excuses:

"Because that's how they do it in the Fatherland..."

"Spit? Screw you pussies, I just swallow it..."

"Yeah? How's your woman like those rivers of brown fluid? Oh that's right, you don't have a woman..."

      Anyone else?

hahaha thanks you guys, and Robsan those are good, good thinking. Come to think of it, I believe that my uncle, who passed away in a car crash some years ago, actually used to dip Copenhagen in his top lip, I never asked him why though...

        anyways, THANKS guys!

PS... I ordered some Ettan in loose form... I find it pretty funny that it was created 1822, and so was Copenhagen! I think i payed 5.40 USD (that's including shipping) for the Ettan, and I would usually pay like 4.80 USD here in Montana for cope, which as far as I know is the most expensive, oh well!

Winter Wooskie, first, welcome to the forum.

Use your snus any way YOU want to. If you can make it work in your lower lip, and that's what you prefer, then screw the "right" way. I know some folks here lower lip their portions. And 20 months into using myself, I always have my portions in the "wrong" place (pushed much further back than is typical.) Why??? Cause that's what is comfortable for me.

So.... if you are satisfied with how the snus holds together in your lower lip, and it makes you happy, just go for it. OTOH, you *might* find that upper lip is just easier and better. But don't get stressed out about "doing it right".

As you continue to read the forum and get caugt up in old threads, you wil learn that there really is a bunch of diversity about tastes and methods in the snus community.

          And again, welcome.

If you find a few brands you really dig, you can order rolls, or a large amount of individuals, and the price per can drops substantially. I think the average price per tin is about $3.70 shipped for me.

in Knoxville Longhorn costs 1.22 at Walmart and expires in Jan or Feb. The finecut is pretty good if you like snuff. I myself like Longhorn Straight Longcut. I wish I could get Longcut natural but can't find it around here. I am noticing a little gum recession and am thinking I should snus more and dip less. I don't know if the recession is natural or from dipping.

It's pretty common to go bottom lip here in Sweden, or rather used to be. It's actually the "old-school" way to do snus. But nowadays only hicks, old farts and women go bottom lip.

Wooskie -- look for Klondike brand, it is cut like an American dip. Tastes more like it too, and is available in several flavors.

I am one of those old farts that goes lower lip. Lower from being American and side to side from the Red Man leaf days. Do whatever works for you. There is no right way. If your friends give you crap, tell them to pound sand. I think you will find that that attitude will engender more respect from them in the long run.

I tried bottom lipping it like my *rip* beloved grizzly but I just got mud mouth after a minute or so haha. Whatever works works I guess.

I have been using my bottom lip more often. I can't tell a difference and I can only keep a pris in my top lip for half an hour before I get the mudslide going on.

I just recently started bottom lippin it. A little worried about gum recession so I am moving it around a bit. I must say I get a better buzz down below. Guessing this is just because I'm not acclimated to my snus being their. I get a lot of flavor, almost too much. Seems like a totally different way to enjoy snus since I'm so used to the upper lip. I dig it!

On your side of the border...what's the weight sold per tin?
Up here in the great white north they fiddled withit and now Cope, Skoal, or whatever is in these freakin 15 gram tins. For like 10 bucks a tin!!!
Swedish snus all the way!!! still half the price with shipping and even cheap if customs dings me with a charge.
Hell, I liked Skoal classic for taste and wadding power, but you get so used to Swesnus that you'll soon forget what the old CRAP tasted like, and you'll be baking like a pro in no-time.
And think about the additives difference...try a wad of say cope longcut and then right after use a prilla of ETTAN or RODA and well...you should know what I'm getting at.
I'm afraid of what North American big tobacco companies add to the mix.
When I was smoking I used a certain discount brand for a while when hard times hit. It gave me an irregular heartbeat I could feel in my throat. Went off it...soon back to normal. tested it again...thumpity-thumpthump. Discount smokes=population controll. cull the poor lower-

Oh, but I do go onnnnnnnnnnn
