New to Snus

I am new to Swedish Snus and right now I am really loving the General Mint I bought but I have a few questions.

What place online is recommended to buy Swedish Snus?

What are some of the favorite brands of snus?

What is the removed top on the snus canister for?

BTW, American (Marlboro and Camel) snus sucks compared to imported.

Welcome to the forums. Buysnus has a LOT of fans here and Northerner is a close second.
The top is sort of a trashcan for used portions, so you don't have to stick it in your pocket or search for a real trashcan.
As to favorites, no matter what brand you pick someone is a champion for it. I can't live without N&J and Skruf brands, everything else is optional.

Sath - welcome to snuson! I know that it's already been said, but buysnus.com has a wide selection of snus, reasonable shipping rates, good mixed snus/boxed packages if you're not sure what you like yet, etc. Not to mention their customer service. I haven't seen anyone on this site who contacted their customer service branch go more than a day or two before receiving a personal email, and it's not unusual for buysnus to "apologize for any inconvenience" by reshipping a lost order (for free). Buysnus.com is THE $HIT as far as a retailer goes. Check them out.

I agree with everything that has been said here. Buysnus.com is a great retailer and Northerner.com is also very good.

I assume you're looking for portion pouches - you can either go with the Sewdish Match tasting kit regular. But I suggest you get a broader mix. Something like:

Ettan
General
Röda Lacket
Skruf Stark
Jakobssons classic or Gotland Yellow
Mocca + mini eucalyptus
Nick & Johnny
Retro

Most of these are regular portions apart from the Roda Lacket which only comes in white. Get one of the first 4 in lös as well just to try (I promise it's brilliant if you stick with it).

These aren't my personal favourites - but all seem highly regarded here and are quality snus, and they represent a good spread of flavours, sizes, strengths and companies producing them.

Seems like everyone has your questions covered, but I at least just wanted to welcome you to our fun.

One other suggestion. Go though this thread, it is a list of everyone's top 5 favorites. You will see all the diversity that is snus tatstes. But you will also start to pick out some common favorites. A good place to start. A long time ago, we started this thread just for folks like you.
