Getting the smell out of a can

Ok, so today I bought a can of General White Wintergreen, and I noticed the flavor wasn't quite right. I checked the expiration date on the bottom(something I'm doing from now on), and lo and behold, it was expired. I bought a good can and chucked the expired snus from the other, and now I'm trying to get the peppermint smell out so I can use it as a "Grab Can" for a few different flavors. Right now I've got baking soda in it. Anyone have any idea if baking soda in it for a couple days will work?

The off flavor of the wintergreen had nothing to with it being expired...it really just isn't good.

Huh. The second can tastes just fine to me. Weird.

It's definitely a love it or hate it kind of snus. I can do about half a can before getting sick of it and switching flavors.

I'm with you there. I'll definitely keep it in my rotation with White Mint. Just hope the baking soda gets the smell out or at least reduces it

Well, after one day, the wintergreen smell I considerably less, so I think a few more days would make it zero. Trying the same thing with and empty White Mint can now

I usually let my empty cans sit (lid off) for a week or so.........this seems to do the trick with most

But wintergreen and mint are the hardest smells to get rid of.

you might have to put it in the dishwasher.....or if you want the label intact.......you can put a bit of natural flavor los in the can and try to neutralize it that way.....for me I'd just let it sit about a month and then use it
