I tend to be long winded as I want to explain everything so I'll give both the reader's digest version of my question and the word vomit version for those who don't mind reading.
Reader's Digest version - Can I "cling wrap" and vacuum pack open cans for long term storage with no ill effects, or will I open cans of snus mummies 9 months from now?
Long winded version - On Monday I received my first online order of 20 cans of portion snus and I am pretty excited to try them all out. As I have never had more than a can at a time and not a heavy user (like a portion or two a day...I know I have AMAZING willpower ), I have never had to store it for long period of time. I will never get through 20 cans before they all expire and dry out, so i was going to deep freeze the majority.
Since this order will probably take me a year to finish at current usage rates, I don't think i can wait to taste all the different types. So what I want to do is open each can and remove 1 or 2 portions of each (to sample), then wrap them tightly with cling film, individually vacuum seal each with my foodsaver, and store in the freezer. That's what I came up with, do you guys think it would work? Or when I go and grab a "new" can months from now, are the portions going to be shriveled up bags of snus jerky.
Thanks,
PM66
