    Franken-Snus

Well, I've been using much more loose snus lately and had many cans open at the same time. I had Prima Fint, Knox, LD, Julesnus, and Phantom Blue.

Today I noticed the Prima Fint and Knox were near gone. I took out a small glass bowl and dumped both cans in. Little dry. Added a few drops of water, some 151, and some Bourbon. A tiny dash of baking soda and went at it with a fork breaking all the lumps and mixing very, very well.

I then went at it with my fingertips and mashed and mushed and kneaded to make sure it was thoroughly mixed. This also helped with reducing what the fork had turned into a fluffy mountain into a nice wad of smooth snus.

Oh, the smell made my mouth water. I wadded it up into a nice ball and put it back into the Knox can since the Prima Fint is fiberboard and was starting to flake wax. One pris in now, wow!

Have any of you done anything similar before? Ever mixed up the end of a few cans of loose? Ever mix up a hybrid just for shits and giggles? The possibilities are endless.

What's been you're best combination so far?

I did this with some really old Roda Lacket that fell back into the depths of my fridge. Must have been almost 3/4 of a year old. Only had enough for about 2 uses. In a bowl I mixed in a drop of juice from a cherry and a drop of brandy. Let it sit of a day after mixing. OMG! It was so delicious. Very juicy a ran a little more than usual but was well worth it. I added to much liquid given I had about 3 or 4 grams left. I would suggest trying it some time!

Does adding a little baking soda just add some body to the concoction? I know that it keeps the Ph at 7(neutral). Damn chemistry

I mostly did it because the Prima Fint is bland. I also did it, in part, hoping to amp up the nic release a bit.

It was honestly a very small amount, maybe a 1/4 teaspoon into 20 grams of snus.

I believe snus is more basic than neutral. That's what enables absorption better through your mucosa.

Nothing too exotic, but I like to dump out 1/4 a General Maxi and jam a Wintergreen in there. Wintergreen by itself tastes ok, but requires some "beefing up".

I have redman FC natural flavored, Kodiak premium mint and a bunch of skoal mint bandits(little tiny useless things), leftover from my dipping days(2 weeks ago).

Thanks to this thread I'm currently pondering how to dissipate these products among my snus. All I have is roda lacket loose, catch eucalyptis, probe whiskey and ettan pouches.

            redman+ettan= leathery, naturally stuff?
catch eucalyptus+kodiak mint= completely numb mouth?

just initial ideas, though I'm worried the different consistencies wouldn't mix.

I don't have any liquor here, but I can make espresso... that would have to be used right away though cause it spoils

I just rolled my last ball of Lacket in some Scotch snuff. Like a powdered chocolate ball. Pretty tasty.

I dropped a few Gotlands Julesnus in a tin of Onyx the other day and, forgot they were still in there at the end of the day. Believe it or not, it was a great pairing! Great Onyx flavor with a hint of cinnamon and clove. It's not lös but, just thought I'd share.

Yup, I've been mixing for a while now. Coarser with finer to keep it together, end of the can, especially when i'm having to stretch the last of the Swedish snus with skoal classic (eeeeuuuucchhhh!)!!! But i don't let that happen too often anymore. Always overlap your orders boys! hhehhe! LD and Montecristo one to one with a bit of Phantom blue works ok. thats the last i remember using. depends on your own pfef's.
Just play with it, a bit of this n that. start small so there's no waste. That's just an abuse of Swedens best export, next to girls.

I mix nasal snuff too, and have a common jar for emptying my bullet into when it's time for a change. that ones got best dark, toque peppermint, menthol, english rose, a floral blend, and dholakia in it right now,...
                    what an explosive bouquet!!!
                    I'ts all fun and games!

Poorer brands of Swedish snus are better than the best North American.

I still have a whole tin of W.E. Garrett from my failed flirtations with nasal snuff. I was thinking about sprinkling a little in an older tin of los and trying it out. I'm scared though.....

Ewwwww. Jason that sounds nasty. W.E. is so so so crappy. That would taste like shit but would probably give you a hell of a rush.

I've tried the snuff on the gums, it's not pleasant. I had to rinse my mouth out before I got any nicotine.

Most snuff is not made for taste but scent. The American snuff is made for oral use primarily. What snuff were you eating anyway holnrew?

I've never tried it orally, but so far it's my favorite American scotch snuff. It's not too harsh, and has a pleasant smokiness.
