Los snus melts onto my teeth!

I'm sure other people have this problem as well. After a few minutes of having loose snus in my upper lip, the pris melts away and recedes onto my teeth. This gets annoying because I must push the snus back onto my gums with my tongue. Are there any special techniques for preventing this? Should I pack the pris tighter? Shape it differently? Or is this one of the downsides of los snus?

    Thanks for helping!

I haven't really found a way around it for the most part. The way to lessen it is use slightly less and pack it tighter against your gums. You also may want to wipe your gums with a finger or dry cloth before using it, since it seems to help a lot.

Honestly though, I figured out I'm not much of a los snuser and I prefer portions. The can of los Goteborgs Rape that I have, I've been making prillas and then wrapping teabag around them and making my own pouches. Surprisingly enough, if it's a good teabag, the effect is almost as good as the los, but none of the mess.

Baking the pris tighter will help quite a bit...I get mine tight enough to where I can actually move it around under my lip.

I have been doing lös most of my life and have always used the American technique. Lower lip. Works for me. I have gone upper after being on this forum. It gives my lower lip a break.

Doesn't it mash into your teeth when you lower lip?

I'd say don't make your pris too mall either, for some reason they smush too easily for me.

When I read that it is getting mashed in the teeth, I think of the wad moving down. Now, if it is just that some pieces get wedged into your teeth, that is unavoidable. When I put it in my lower lip, of course some of it gets around my mouth. However, I can use my tongue to keep most of it in place. Restraint is required with moving it around in your lip. It disperses over time, which actually works for the better. That exposes "new" snus to be enjoyed. The stuff that disperses is also mostly used up and you can get the last little bit out of it before you spit it out.

against the wishes of users from other nations, I lower lip the loose stuff. There's simply way more room in my lower lip, to the point where a pig pinch of loose will never get into my teeth. When it dissipates, it just starts to encircle my lower jaw, and the hit is refreshed.

                Gravity.

I never have this problem with coarser ground snus like General, Ettan, Grov, and Gotlands. Although slightly more difficult to bake at first than the finer ground ones they stay in place much better.

I haven't tried any of those brands in los yet, but I'm waiting for these cans in the mail:

                    Gotlands Christmas
                    Gotlands Anise
                    Ettan
                    Roda Lacket

I'll try the Ettan first and see if the snus stays together better.

                    Thanks for the help everyone.

Sounds good, you could also try keeping right in the middle of your lip and not leaving it in as long.

The RL was a good choice, also.....very easy to bake and it will hold together for a while.

If everything else fails, don't be afraid to use your tongue to keep the snus in place. The traditional way of lössnusing is to bake the pris properly, to place it near the front teeth, and to leave the pris alone, once it's under the lip, which works for many people, but for me only the tongue-method really works, no matter how "well-baked" the pris is.

                          Cheers!

Try to keep your mouth relaxed. Let your pris have some contact with air through your mouth. These besides baking techniques will help. Yry taking a little nap with a pris in. You may be suprised at the length of time a pris will hold up. In fact it will be too long and will burn your lip a little.
