    Yet another new guy!

    Greeting every one! i found this site just a day ago when i was shopping for snus, i just recently found out about snus from advertisments from camel, but being to impaitent to wait for its release here in BFWyoming i hopped on preimium snus.com and orderd a can of General Onyx. After a few topics being read i seemed to have noticed that Onyx isnt recommended for beginners. My logic was telling me to go for strong as i smoke 2+ packs a day, and i have asthma and i am looking for a way to stop smoking. So onxy seemed perfect.Was that not a smart choice :?: Any ways just wanted to say hi!

    Good choice I think. But you might hate it at first.

      Hopefully i wont :!: i suppose i am used to the bad first impression turning out to be my favorite though i chew skoal off and on and the first i tried was the cherry....Blarrgh...but no that ive tried almost all types of skoal and cope, any time i see the red cherry can my mouth waters, im hopping maybe that will be the case with snus :!: , Btw i found this article on USA today just a few min. ago and man do these people have some high and mighty goals in the comments box. Their save all who use tobacco thing like smokers,chewers, and any one else who use tobacco dont know what is right and wrong, smart or dumb, ect. They act like its their born right to make our choices for us, i say if you smoke and love it light'er up! Note the snus user with the third or fourth comment, im for one glad he/she stood up for snus. ive checked and cross check multiple sources and came to the same conclusion as he/she did less dangerous is better!

        Nah, Onyx is a good first snus. It probably won't be what you're imagining, but it's decent, and is presented nicely. It's the one General snus I would use, personally. At first I didn't like it because it had an anise flavor to it, but I found that flavor goes away and is replaced by a nice tobacco flavor. Plus, if I recall, it's a little stronger than the average portion.

        Yeah, it's a complicated argument regarding tobacco and the public. I can understand the side that says it's potentially harmful to especially young people who have never used tobacco. The other side, of course, is that the harm reduction from cigarettes is significant. It's like Democrats versus Republicans. Bottom-up or top-down, both have valid points. What I'm still curious about is all the tests that have been done with such mixed results. Some say snus is very harmful, some say it is entirely benign, and everything in between.

          Onyx is ok. It has a very rich citrus flavor, but it tastes good. You will definitely get a strong nicotine hit from it...

            well thats good to know that onyx isnt overkill :lol: im going to need a strong nic hit anyways to replace my chain smoking habit, as for the citrus flavor that actually sounds very inviting cant wait!

              yea i see the point in both sides but it seems the anti tobacco wont even let us have a less-harmful form of tobacco it seems just silly ya know. i figure if second hand smoke is so bad then try to get smokes to switch and still warn non-users to stay away but dont make it quit or die. after 3 years of progressive smoking my lungs hate me...:lol: but dont try and ban somthing that only affects individuals if im not hurting anyone but myself and i know that i am harming myself than shouldnt that be my choice? anyways imma stop with the politics that add just got me spun.

                Snus is tasty and will definitely get you over the hump.

                Anything is better than cigarettes. Even chewing on a rat's tail.
