    packing a pris

    Hey guys,
When I started with snus, I would pick up a pinch of snus (as if it were dip), and then form it into a little pyramid-shaped thing. Lately, I push my thumb and forefinger down into the corner of the can, packing it down before pulling out the pinch. From there, I pack it more and form it into a pris. Doing this, I've found I can get much more tightly packed prilla that resist breaking up and turning into mouth mud. (Once they break up, I have to re-pack with my tongue - old dip habit - and that NEVER helps the mud situation). I'm not sure when I started doing this - though it probably came from getting the last pris out of a tin when the snus is drier.
Anyhow, from what I understand, the Icetool/Prismaster basically does the same thing, but it doesn't make sense to me to buy a tool that does something I can do myself. Plus, since I use the loose at home, I'm not too concerned with dirtying my fingers - I can just wash them off. Do any of you (those of you who don't use the snustools) use any similar sorts of snus-packing strategies? I am interested to hear about different techniques. Thanks.

    Cheers,

Reading this post got me curious as to how I do it, since I never really paid attention to how I did it. But anyway, I take my thumb and forefinger, pinch some together, set it in my upper lip, then push it into place with my tongue, pretty much the same way I used to put a dip in, except substitute lower lip for upper lip. I've never had a problem with the mouth mud thing, except when I had a pris in for a very long time, and it starts to fall out of my lip.

Yes, AndersPus. Most of his content on YouTube is about snus, and I find him amusing although I am not able to understand Norwegian. Most of his content also features General, so Swedish Match could hire him as an amusing spokesperson.

Here you go. Sorry for the missing translation of the annoying mother - I simply can't understand what she says. I think it's about whether or not someone has called.

Text: Bake a snus in 1, 2, 3! AnderPus explains how! Nynorsk (new Norwegian) version!!!

"Hi. Now I'm gonna show you how to bake a snus. Like this (showing tin). You always start by taking off the lid ... like this ... or what? Then you form a claw ... and then grab som snus - and put it in the palm of your hand ... like this ... a bit more, a bit more ... and, a bit more ... like this. And then you put the lid back on, so the rest won't jump out ... now, nooow, now you have some good snus here ... and then just squeeze it together ... like this ... (crazy face expression + biting air) ... well? Sounds good or what? ... yes, and we must make sure that the snus doesn't dry out. Keep it in a fridge or something like that ... snus boogie woogie ... yes. And now you have a ... now you have a little lump of snus. And then you do like this ... you cuddle the snus, as I call it ... cuddle. You're cuddling the snus until it's a barrel. Well, do like this with your fingers. Cuddle the snus ... shut up, mom! I'm in the middle of something ... erhm ... you cuddle the snus like this ... (footsteps) ... (mom asks something ... dunno what) ... I don't know, I'm making a movie ... (mom speaks again) ... narhg, shhh! ... I'm making a movie ... (mom again) ... erhm, like this. And then you just put it under your lip ... aheeeing!"

Btw. check out Zeros pris-video. It shows the process VERY clearly:

Thanks. I did see Zero's video- in fact, I asked for it. I always wondered what AndersPus was saying when he repeated 'slekt'.

                Thanks again.

                  ... sleepy me

Yeah, he says 'slikt' a lot. And furthermore he is gifted with a thousand utterly insane facial expressions. Have you seen the video where he is doing a truckload of nasal snuff? yikes ... almost got a headache just by watching.

Slikt is 'such'? Perhaps as English speakers say "so"? I find his expressions and silliness amusing, but I have no taste.
Do you have a link to the nasal snuff video?

Thanks again Subtilo, I owe you one, so should you ever want Welsh translated...

                      No problem, man.

Yes, 'slikt' (which is by the way a stolen Swedish word) can be translated to 'such'. But in this case - where 'slikt' is used by AndersPus to underline his physical actions - I think 'like this' or 'like so' fits the translation better.

Welsh? Yeah, thanks ... who knows, it might come in handy one day

Oh, yeah ... here's the guy sniffing himself silly:

Indeed. I would've sneezed my brains out twice if I was to sniff that much. But then again I sneeze just by looking at the tin when it comes to nasal snuff. This Icelandic fella, who I went to school with once, always tried to lure me in to doing it when I was drunk - only to shake his big viking corpus with laughter afterwards when I dangled around looking like a severe case of allergies. No, this is not for me ... plus I don't like the black stuff which can be blown from your nose the following morning (almost like after spending too much time in the London sub).

                              Holy Jésus Henri Buddha!

I swear, that made me start to eye my old can of Bruton Scotch that I have sitting around, and think, "OW!!"

Seriously, if I tried that with that stuff, I doubt I'd have a face left. Or feel like I had a face left. Or both.

Still...imagine the hella nic buzz he had afterwards...
