i work construction, and at some point on most jobs they stop smoking on the job. they pulled the plug on smokers last week. didn't bother me a bit, but one guy in my crew is in sad shape. i was talking with him yesterday. told him i found an alternative to smoking that tastes great, has more than enough nicotine, is cheaper than cigs, and requires no spitting, also is a hell of a lot safer than cigs. his eyes lit up and he had to know what i was talking about. i told him it was snus, explained to him it wasn't dip, an entirely different process and is wonderful. first thing out of his mouth was. i'm not gonna chew. i smiled popped in a portion and said ok. i hope he enjoys the constant craving for 8 hours.

I've given up on trying to convert friends and family to snus. They'll just have to fall ill from smoking, and be ready to quit on their own time. That was my thing, when I quit smoking with snus, trying to "save" all of my friends. My friends just gave me $h!t for using "Swedish chew", so I had to realize that snus isn't for everyone.

I have a can of LD Black I'm not really into, so I'm passing it along to a woman at work whose husband is leaving dip trails all over the house. The flavor is slightly sweet, and he actually likes black licorice, so we'll see... other people have been interested, but of course that quickly fades when it comes to trying some.

Yeah, I'm at the point now with too many cans of brands I'm not crazy about that I wish I had more friends and family who used snus so I could give it to them!

I have a bunch of fresh Knox portion, LD white portion and Elixer PE, and several others that I'd be willing to trade for dvds or knives or outdoor gear....anyone?

I introduced two of my friends to Snus today. It was Camel because it is the only thing I have. Also I thought they would like it because it is tailored for Americans. One friend who smoked said that he liked it and that it "may be [his] ticket out of smoking". The other friend who dipped said that it tasted good and that he was interested.

As nobody has really heard of it, I just brought out the tin and after I told them what it was I offered them one to try. Peer pressure works.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm quite serious, I have 8 cans of Knox portion, still with a long expire date, and about 7 cans of LD white portion that are fresh as well. I'm willing to trade for pretty much anything. Both brands aren't bad, but Knox reminds me of canned black olives. And LD white is a great, long lasting snus, but I'm always compelled to take a whiff of the can and something about its odore offends my Snussabilities.

If anyone's interested in swapping for any of these, PM me or email me, ponysoprano@hotmail.com Both brands are fresh and have been in a fridge drawer that I keep close to freezing.

I am continuing to spread the word about snus with a good bit of success. My brother in law has his second ten can order to tag onto my current order and has pretty much switched from dip. Another friend did not care for the portion snus I gave him but placed an order for los snus and is switching from dip and a third friend is now trying to quit smoking with Camel snus. (Poor guy, I gave him a General Sterk to try and within two minutes he was beet red, sweating, hiccuping like crazy, and I was afraid he was going to pass out. He did like the Camel Frost though).

I have given away a dozen or so cans of Swedish snus to friends and family and I am even buying Camel ($1/tin here) to give to the people who don't like the Swedish stuff at first.

I've been telling any smoker who will listen about snus and offer them portions. If they are interested I direct them to getsnus where they can try a can of general for 1 dollar shipping.

If they aren't interested/don't like it I give them a dollar and have them send a can to their home address for me 8)

A guy I work with got two cans of the US camel snus at a nascar race (they're promoting it like crazy) for free. He smokes quite a bit, Marlboro Reds, said he tried one of the mellows and didn't like it. We had talked about it and I said I liked it and whatnot and he should give it a try.

He ended up giving me his two cans and said he didn't like it. Fine with me, free snus!

I think, especially Americans, are sometimes stubborn about trying new 'foreign' things. Especially in the state where I currently reside. I guess people's tobacco fixes are also quite personal. I will probably not try and convert anyone unless a friend is trying to quit. I imagine when someone around here sees me spit one out or put one in they'll be curious and ask. But my guess is that they probably will write it off immediately. Mostly because it's a 'foreign' thing, and I say that because of the southern, very Republican, largely armed forces area I live in. They want good old American things and are not really willing to try new things.

I told my dad about it though, he's not a smoker, but he was interested in it and said that he'd probably use it if he needed nicotine, but he's not a smoker.

I am over telling smokers about snus. They can die for all I care...in a friendly way. Smokers always make it seem YOU are the one with the disgusting habit.

Dippers on the other hand....I will offer some snus to. A nice big wad of extra sterk los...right after they tell me how it won't be strong enough for them...heh heh heh.

All kidding aside...I don't.bring it up but if approached I answer all questions knowlege....knowled...knowledgebsl........with a certain accumen and tell them to "Google that shit, read the studies and try it if you want a less harmful tobacco product....or die of lung cancer." <----I say this.

I hate when people preach to me when they see my behavior so I do not approach anyone...but if I am invited to speak on snus I do the best I can...

Maybe I would get more flies with hunny.
