What do you think?(Custom pris tool. Final build w/ pics)

I am pretty new to snus and have never tried los, but after seeing the Icetool I decided I should try to fabricate one. I am a machinist so I couldn't resist. Here are a couple pics:

I've never seen anything but pictures of an Icetool so I had no dimensions for it so I used online conversions to figure out some basic dimensions for a 3ml tool. It is made from 7075 aluminum and the inside diameter is .312" so that would be the diameter of the pris it makes and the pris could be as long as 2" maybe a little more. I threw my own design on it so I wasn't copying the icetool product. I am thinking about cutting off the top portion that is in the red box to cut down on overall length. I wanted to throw that radius in there so I left it long and now I think it might be too long, so cutting off that part might happen even though your fingers fit in there nicely. I lwas also going to put flats on the upper diameter of the hollow shaft but I liked how the circle felt, this way you dont have to line tabs up with your fingers, you can hold it in any position. I have an order from northerner coming with some los so I haven't been able to try it out yet, but I cant wait to see how it performs. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
    EDIT:
I decided to take off the upper portion and make a few changes. I added an o-ring and cut groves on the plunger shaft to show 1ml each. I also radiused the top so I have a nice little dimple to put my thumb into. Cleaned up a couple radii. I know a lot of people liked the first one but it was a bit much to put in my pocket. I may construct a home tool as well that I can make bigger. Sorry tried to make pics smaller but couldn't figure it out. This was made on a manual lathe no cnc programs or machines were used just good old fashion manual machining.

I am not sure about the functionality of it as I have never seen or used any tools for baking a pris, but I'll have to say you have created a beautiful piece.

It looks good, seems bigger than the Icetool. If you want to send me one, I'd be happy to test it for you . My one suggestion is to make sure the metal on the end is very dull.

Looks nice! I don't have an icetool, but I believe that they have an o-ring on the plunger to keep the juice and bits from clogging it up

          Nice work :^)

That looks like it would work better as an "at home" tool. It's very nice looking, but a little bulky for carrying. For carrying, I agree that it would be better to take the upper part off, and indent the top of the plunger.

It's beautiful! Very elegant. My instinct is that the barrel should be shorter and fatter. I for one like the top the way it is. The face in the face/vase effect looks like a screaming alien.

RobsanX yes the icetool does have an o-ring on it but contrary to popular belief I don't think its there to keep juices and snus bits from clogging it up. The icetool I made has a diference of .0015(half the thickness of a sheet of paper) of an inch between the the outside shafts inside diameter and the inner shafts outside diameter which would make it really hard to get bits of snuss between them. When I machined mine I left the o-ring out for this reason, but when I put the pieces together I realized what that o-ring did. That o-ring allows you to pull up the plunger and for it to stay in place without falling back down. Thats my guess. So tonight I will add the oring and cut off the top part. Bout time you posted on here dave. Yeah I could too if I cared so shut your mouth

Have any interest in making a box in the shape of the NJ W/E?

I'd gladly pay a more than fair amount.

Great craftsmanship. I wish I had the skill/knowledge.

Could someone give me a measurement on the inside diameter?(hole in the tube that the snus goes into) I'm just wondering if the pris mine makes is around the same diameter of the icetool A simple ruler measurement across the center of the hole will do just fine unless someone has some calipers or other precision measuring tools. Thanks.

                          Just a hair smaller(sub mm) than 1cm.

I've been waiting to see what it'd look like. Very nicely made, and the top part looks quite fetching. It might be a bit bulky to have as something to carry, but I think it'd look fantastic at home. Heh, kind of sounds like guns. You carry something simple that gets the job done, you keep the showpieces at home.

                              Very nice man!

FOrgive me for not reading. Did you do it on a manual lathe or with a cnc program?

I'd definitely use a show piece like that at home.

ANd man, dont cut that thing up! make another one for daily use.. keep that as a show piece. Or sell it to me before you cut it up!
