    help im a snuwbie

hello as stated i am new to the world of snus. i found the forum by chance while attempting to find an audio file that would pronounce the word snus for me. wikipedia had a decent amount of information but i prefer to hear the word over attempting to phonetically learn to speak it. im located in the US and found and learned of snus for the first time at a local general store i saw the camel snus and being a fan of camel tobacco products i grabbed a can out of curiosity. i was very pleasantly surprised and have now started using snus regularly for the past month now the mellow being my favorites. no more smoke no more spit im stoked! i have searched near my home and have found no other products available other than the camels. im looking for whatever info people may wish to share with me as new snuser. i appreciate it.

Welcome to the forums deadmrzombie!! :^)

It's kind of tough to just give answers to questions unasked; there's a lot of information to go through :^D

I suggest taking some time, and reading through the forums. We can then field the remaining questions :^)

Welcome to the forums. Finding Swedish snus in a store in the states is almost a miracle, there are a few, but very few. The closest store to me that carries snus is a 4.5 hour drive, and they only carry a few General products. Online ordering is the best choice, for most of us non-swedes, it's the only choice.

        Welcome, mate!

The only way I can find any Swedish snus is online. The local tobacconists downtown have a great variety of cigars and pipe tobacco, but snus is unheard of. The best sites I know of are:
        www.busnus.com
        www.northerner.com
        www.getsnus.com

Buysnus and Northerner are based in Sweden if I recall correctly, and have the best selection that I've seen. Shipping takes anywhere between 5-7 days on average. Getsnus (sorry, sagedil) has a limited selection, but is US based and shipping takes 3-5 days.

There's a ton of other stuff I can share with you, but I could write a couple pages worth of info before getting halfway done. Anything specifically you want to know? Plenty of people around to answer, and plenty written around the forum.

The single best tip I can give you is: try a bunch of different kinds, and try both loose and portion.

Very good tip. Won't know what you really like until you've tried a bunch of them. Find what you like, go with it, but keep a mix of something different so you don't get tired of it.

              Welcome!

The biggest bit of information you need is that traditional Swedish snus doesn't taste anything like Camel snus.

Other than that, just lurk around the forums, and you'll find that there is a wealth of information here...

When you're ready, just jump in and ask any questions you'd like. We are a friendly bunch, and we'll be glad to help!

One other thing that no one else posted. Swedish Snus is available in limited quantities in a number of places here in the US. Swedish match has a handy store locator so you can see if you are one of the lucky ones....http://www.swedishsnus.com/EU/storelocator.asp

But be advised, they only stock a very limited numbers of snuses. So you still will want to order online to have the greatest choice. but if there is a store near you, the fastest way for you to get some.

And welcome to Snuson btw.
