Well I take that back. A week or so back I ate a bunch of my kids candy and I got a gum zit (It was tropical fruit Nerds-don't ask and no I don't know what I was thinking- box gone. next day kid and then wife pissed. Off to Sams. Big freaking carton of Nerds. Kid happy. Wife really pissed) But from just snus not at all.

It's weird, I'm getting sores in my mouth. 3 different places, and this has not occurred before. I think I'm going to take a break from snus so they can heal.

I have a question.

I used to be a Hospital Corpsman in the Navy (Marine/Navy medic), and I was on the USS Hawes (FFG-53). I have very fond memories of being on watch, whether out to sea or in port and not being able to smoke. So I used Skoal Wintergreen. I was wondering if the Offroad American Wintergreen is similar, or even the Offroad American Wintergreen Long Cut, since I used the long cut version of the Skoal. I have some on order from GetSnus, but I wanted to hear what everyone here has to say about it.

Those were some crazy days though! I remember sitting on aft lookout, freezing my ass off in the middle of the Mediterranean, or standing watch as Officer of the Deck/Petty Officer of the Watch while in port with a lip of Skoal Wintergreen. It did the job!

I didn't like the Offroad long cut original. I did not try the wintergreen flavor. Maybe it's more like dip than the original is.

So..... has anyone else received their free spitoon from Skoal's brotherhood yet?

I got mine Friday. It's surprisingly well built and nice looking.

Offroad ice mint los is pretty good i'd have to say but i tired the wintergreen yesterday and i did not enjoy it too much also just had the general wintergreen portion and it doesnt tatse that good to me for some reason .

i use to love the taste of kodiak wintergreen it was my go to dip. now i can't stand it. i guess my tatse went to pur tobacco taste now.

Way off subject I know, but I think it's funny how much crap jarheads give squids! And then the first word out of their mouths qhen they get hit is "CORPSMAN!!!" I was Army so it doesn't apply to me, it just always amused me!

BTW Qor, did you see Flag of Our Fathers? Pretty good flick, the book was awesome though! 8)

Has anyone tired an American dip pouch in the upper lip like snus? If so, how was it? I'd think like snus, it'd make little need to spit, plus I know some dippers that "gut it". I was just wondering if anyone has tried this? Hmmm, I still have a can of Grizzly Mint Pouches(do these things ever go bad?). I might try it later, or someday, but has anyone already did so?

A lot of dippers upper deck their Dip. I have upper decked Dip and it does make less juice but still more than Swedish Snus.

Guys to each his own but as an x-dipper I strongly recommend staying as far away from American dip as possible. It’s just not worth the risk especially when there is snus. Just put the can down and walk away!!! :x

I guess rotating between tons of snus brands is an american thing, most scandinavians stick to 1 snus brand. i stick to 1 lös and 1 portion.

Actually im going to buy some Oliver Twist tomorrow, closest thing to dip here in norway. i read you use it the same way, so, ill give it a try.

Oliver Twist isn't much like dip in style or flavor. The closest thing would probably be Grov, but it's still a mile away in flavor. If you want to try dip, your best bet is either private trade, or use the USA section of Northerners website.
