I've used dip before. The nic kick is incredible. I find it to be a big punch in the beginning then it fades away pretty fast, while snus gives the nicotine over a longer period of time.

The bigger difference for me is that when I have dip in my mouth, the kick may be great, but in the back of my mind, I know it's poison. Psychologically, snus is more enjoyable because I don't feel like I'm destroying my gums.

I have what is probably a dumb question. Won't be my first one nor my last one either. Does using Swedish snus produce much saliva or is it comparable to American Camel "Snus"? When I use Camel, I don't have any but have a lot when I use Grizzly pouches and other brands of smokeless and loose smokeless.

I hope it doesn't. I ordered some Discreet samples until I can get enough money for a large order of different brands of the portions based on some of your recommendations from BuySnus.com. Would love to eliminate having to have a spit cup or using my trash can at work.

Also, hoping one portion will be enough to keep the costs down. Any one who is a former dipper, can you tell me how the nictotine buzz compares from Grizzly and Cope for the different size portions, I would appreciate it.

Personally, I don't get much salaiva at all, and have no need to spit. I did when I 1st used snus, but I think it was because I was placing the portion too far back on the side.

As far as saliva goes, it depends on where you put the snus. Lower lip it and it’s the same as dip. Upper lip it and it’s significantly less. Move the snus back further in the (upper) mouth and the saliva will increase. Thus you can adjust it to preference. The great thing is no more spit cups (unless you just want them- and bro you will not believe the freedom this gives you).

As far as the nic goes I think you will find two things:
              1. The nic from just a regular portion (or even a stark mini) is greater than the nic from the strongest dip. I have sent many a seasoned cope user to the can with the shits b/c he thought he could take a monster dip of snus.
              2. Also you are going to find that with dip the effect was based on a lot more than just nic (there are so many other chemicals in dip its scary).

              Good questions my friend.

              Hope this helps.

It really does help. I will probably just order portions because I have enough trouble keeping Cope packed much less something finer. It is good to know that one portion packs so much kick. Will help with the cost. Does anyone use more than one portion at a time?

Will have to get used to holding the portion in a different place than the pouches. I put the Camels in the same place and don't have any saliva but figure I will with the Swedish ones.

I think the newer stark portions pretty much ended the doubling up days for most folks (I'm sure not all- but most). I'd throw in a can or two when you place your order. I just would not do all starks (at least not at first). Also, when my order arrived, I’d begin with the regular strength portions- just so you can get a gauge of the normal nic level in snus

I've never really tried lower lipping a portion but then again my gig is los so I might not be the best one to tell you how that will effect saliva

That I will do. The reason I haven't ordered any yet is I have my normal supply built up and there are several video games coming out in the next two months so the funds are kind of low right now. Hopefully, I can place my order in September but it might be October unfortunately.

You are so right. This is the most helpful forum for total noobs that I have ever seen.

                          Decisions, decisions.

I might be able to make my first order this weekend but my problem is that each site has some that I want from the suggestions from all the helpful veterans from this thread.

Looks like Getsnus has most of the suggestions but SM is the only one that has Probe that lxskllr recommended. I liked Copenhagen's whisky flavored dip. I might wait about that one but I am intrigued by the description on their website.

Any more suggestions on flavors and website to order from for my first order would be appreciated.

I doubt Probe tastes like Cope Whiskey. I've never had the latter, but I don't see anyone else having a flavor like Probe. Probe tastes closest to American leaf chew to me. Kind of sweet, and maybe a little raisiny. You could save that for another time. I recommended it due to the flavoring, but it is a love/hate snus. You could very well hate it.

Ah dude. I love me some leaf chew when I am doing yard work. Not to mention grossing out my son and wife when I get a wad out of the bag. Good times.

Haha, I can imagine you chasing the little kids in the neigborhood with a big handful of chew and a big pinch in your cheeck!
