It would be pretty hard to really seriously enforce the anti-tobacco rules when it comes to snus. They can't see it and there is no spitting. I have portion snused on Lufthansa, Air Canada, Northwest, Continental, Zoom, and a Delta code-share without anyone taking any notice, including those sitting beside me.
Snus-BLOCKED on Delta flight

Just returned from vacation, which involved 4 Delta flights. Had to laugh at the pre-flight announcement of "No smoking or use of any smokeless tobacco products". I was seated right in front of the flight attendant as the announcement was made and popped in a portion right then. No problems. I'm sure if I was using los it would have attracted her attention. What a bull$hit rule. You'd think the airlines would be happy that their passengers were a little less irritable if they could enjoy their smokeless in peace.

I stealthload portions, you'd think I was just wiping off my mouth. Like a snus ninja. Use the can snustray to dispose and you're home free!
If they comment on your lip sticking out tell them that you have a childhood lip disease, you're deeply offended, and you'll see them in court. Maybe you'll get bumped to first class.

I had no issues snusing on a plane. I flew southwest. Had a can of Onyx on my tray most of the flight. It never crossed my mind that they may have a NO TOBACCO rule. I mean, how idiotic is that? I usually don't buy conspiracy theories, but I'm certain pharmaceutical companies have a hand in this crap, tryin to force people on planes to use their shitty nicotine gum and patches.
I agree, when someone tells me I can't use snus somewhere, time to call the ACLU and have a go. When my snus use does NOTHING to other peoples health (nor does it make them all queasy and bitchy with spitting) there is no reason to tell me I can't do it.

Recognize what this is: The anti-smoking movement has nearly reached End Goal (no smoking anywhere but a private home or car without passengers). It is morphing into anti-tobacco. And it will soon become anti-nicotine and take away my e-cigarette.
The college campus where my wife works went "tobacco free" two weeks ago, with great publicity and fanfare. Yes, snus are tobacco and are banned. Yes, my Stonewall dissolvables are banned. Yes, the little Oliver Twist bits I like are banned.
I know. I asked.
And my e-cigarette -- that uses no tobacco? Don't ask, my wife said. They won't like it at all and the rules will just have to be rewritten. Since then, the FDA has made it clear that e-cigs will soon to be illegal to import or sell, so I won't have that option much longer.
This marks a transition for nicotine addicts. Delta is just one of many outfits who will take that stance in the near future, as campaigns against anything remotely related to tobacco ramp up.
I will use 'em as long as I've got 'em.

Now if you want to really blow your mind...
There are still casino's that allow smoking. However you are not allowed to dip...I would guess if they caught you putting in a snus that most people (Myself included until recently) wouldn't know the difference and would ask you to leave the table...
So it's ok to smoke out, just lord forbid you imbibe in another form of tobacco

I am assuming that they just don't allow spitting at a table which I find totally reasonable. Many, many folks find that disgusting and would leave a table if someone was doing that. I guarantee they wouldn't care about snus, wouldn't even know what you are putting in your mouth, could be a breath mint for all they know. But pull out a bottle filled with brown tobacco juice and start spitting into it, then yeah, I would ban that too in those circumstances.

Casinos don't let you smoke anymore because they now want your cigarette money too!

I don't know exactly what they objected to...I spoke with the pit boss and then customer service...the reasons were different with each person I spoke with. Basically they would allow smokers to chain smoke, but I could not spit into a covered coffee cup with napkins to absorb any liquid.
I understand why some casino's allow smoking. Generally smokers are drinkers, and drinkers make them money as alcohol greases the wallet.
On flights I never had a problem, probably because I'm a courteous dipper using colored bottles or cups with lids...regardless I'm moving onto snus now, and I expect fewer issues all around.

Earlier this month I flew up to Toronto, Canada for the week with American Airlines. I was rushing the morning I left, and in a fit of rage grabbed every tin of snus and nasal snuff I had in my fridge and threw it in my carry on bag. Got through security just fine and snused the whole way there. No problems at all.
