Los - How to use.

Oh, you thought this was an instructional post? Quite the opposite.

How the heck do you taste the los snus? I've tried using my Icetool to make it packed, not as packed, medium packed. I also tried bigger pris, smaller ones. I've changed the locations that I put the pris, from upper lip on left and right side, to above my canines, to the back a bit. The mudslides aren't a problem, but I literally get more taste from a portion, even whites.

I have this problem with all los at the moment, and I am trying really good brands. Grovsnus, Roda Lacket, Skruf Stark, Odenx XS Kanel to name some. So far the Skruf gives the most taste, but I feel like I need to get the pris in a damn headlock with my tongue in order to get a little juice outta it.

Any advice?

Try sealing your lips and puffing your top lip out. The pris will leave your gums and stay with your lip. When it returns to your gums, blammo. Also a good technique for moving it higher up or somewhere else. Hope it helps.

It takes about an hour before I begin to taste a los pris. Like you, I'm using several different varieties and they all seem to take awhile before any taste or flavor comes on. For me, it takes an hour for the taste/flavor to come out and usually lasts for about an hour after that. As for me, I really enjoy the fact that los does not come on as strong and fast as portions.

Try the "hillbilly" technique. And play with the amount of compression while baking/tooling. I tend to make them pretty tight so the flavor comes later and they last longer. Sometimes I just throw it in un-baked. Roo's trick works great as well. I also like this post by snusdog on this thread:

Haha yea that post is hilarious. That's basically what I have been doing.

I have been making the pris really small (at least compared to my initial attempts). I just pinch up a little and do a crappy bake for about 2 seconds so that it doesnt get on my shirt enroute to my mouth and then form it up with my tongue.

The small amount that I use still gives me a good hit, it seems like I can play with it more, and it doesnt have to last forever because I can just get another small one in

The flavor comes on immediately because of all the forming with my tongue.

When I was making bigger ones, it was a lot harder to play with the pris. I totally agree about there being a lot more juice from the portions.

I second jamesstew's motion. Drinking liquids, talking, smiling, will all add to the ultimate demise of your pris.

I am not keen on having lös snus all over my mouth as the taste is awful when on my tongue :P

Just depends. It took me about a week to get the handling of the pris down with my tongue to a reasonable level. As for the taste part, I cannot answer . Next time just say "HK says this is ****ING DELICIOUS!!!" and see if that helps.

Well, it's been about 2 weeks of trying los here and there while using portions mainly and I must say, los is growing on me. I now have a perfect place where it goes on the right side, but haven't experimented much with the left. As many have said, it just takes time, and they were right.
