Greetings all first post here.
Just wanted to give my 2 cents on a decent way to transition from dip to snus.
I am an ex-dipper, about a month now.
I have tried to quit off an about about a dozen times, got a free can of Camel mellow (which is still my favorite, don't blast me for it I just like it) anywho I could not shake the craving of actually spitting in a bottle, I think it was the psychological part of dipping that actually relaxed me. With snus there was no spitting so it just wasn't the same, until I thought about sunflower seeds. I started with a portion in my upper lip, and a mouth full of sunflower seeds. This routine killed the "boredom" factor by giving my mouth something to do and also satisfying the "spitting" need I craved. I can now tell you that I still have a slight craving for nicotine, but not nearly the same in the effect that I can go 3-5 hours and not be irritated. When the craving occurs and I'm not in the position to take a portion, I throw in some sunflower seeds and return to center.
My overall budget has decreased immensly, going through a tin in about a week and a half from a can of Cope a day.
Just figured I would help out any dippers looking to quit.
Hope it helps and good luck!
Also my apologies to snusdog, just saw your screenname about ten minutes ago and said "Oh shit!"
