    Help with Los Grind...

So most people around here know im still experimenting in the LOS toybox and with the icetool now in hand i am trying more and more stuff. I know lxskllr has some opinions on the subject and have seen them around but I wanted to ask a centralized question on this one. Here it goes...

I am finding making a pris with Oden's extra sterk to be VERY easy. The pris is staying together nicely.

I am having an extremely hard time keeping a Skruff Sterk pris together. It seems like no matter how well I compress or not play with it.

My question is this...What brand or type keeps together the best and is that grind specific?

V2 is made with play doh i think. You could make little snus statues if you wanted.

Prima Fint is the same way. It goes in the consistancy of really thick brownie dough, and I can't get it to come apart no matter what I do. I think the finer the grind, the better it stays together.

I dont exactly pretend to be an expert but how long have you been using los?

I havebeen using los exclusively for about 2.5 months. Started with Roda and it would always turn to mud----YUK, I thought becauseit is too fine a grind, but just I was finishing my first can the mudslides stopped. I think something has happened to my lip. A sort of pocket has formed under my lip, the pris sit in there. my lip is also drier.

Got a skruf pris in now (1.5 hr), it just sits up there. If it gets a bit muddy at the edge I just eat the mudddy bit or move it to the front of my lip with my tongue and compact it a little.

I use General, GES and Skruf but also Granit, Ettan and Offroad. Offroad is the coarsest, i like to chew on any loose bits. Of the snus i've tried the grind dont make much difference. Defo your lip and how long you've been using.

i dont really bother to bake much of a pris anymore ---------just take a pinch firm it slightly between fingers just enough so it stays together, put it under my lip and let my tongue do the rest. try a smaller pris? easier to control. I have tried using a syringe but dont like the initial roughness on the outside of the pris.

Keep on with it and one day the mud WILL stop and the pris stay together as if my magic.

I like a little mudslide or melting or whatever. That's when it starts to taste great. I just eat the little parts that come off

ctimb2002, I find that you are having trouble with Skruff rather strange. It has been a year since I had it but I found the Skruff was just about the best I had in my limited experience as far as staying together. And from what I have read over the ages, I think most folks say the same.

I think the Oden's ES and Skruf grinds are pretty similar. Oden's ES is ground finer than the Classic 8mg lös. The only brand I have real trouble with is Gotlands. I can't keep a pris together for more than 15-20 minutes. Most snus I can use for over an hour if I want.

Interesting, because I find it to be the other way around....Skruf has always been really easy for me to bake, but the one (and only) tin of Odens I had was an impossible bitch with every pris I made. I could not keep it together for shit....in my hand, under my lip, and spitting it out. Strange too, seeing as how it was so moist, it had almost a greasy feel which I figured would keep it together better. :?

Brukssnus is a value brand from Skruf. 35g tins at 10mg/g makes it kinda budget…price per gram is higher than it looks although the price per tin is...

This is not the original Skruf Stark Los, but it is pretty darn good.

This snus has a good grind and is not “pasty” like a Prima Fint....
