I'm an equal opportunity snuser. I enjoy regulars during the day, two to three portions, one strong snus in the evening, usually after dinner (typically onyx or claq qui) and a los pris before bed. Sometimes I use four or five regulars, no strongs or los, sometimes I use two strongs and a los in the evening. Depends on my mood really.
For instance this morning I hit up an Ettan portion after arriving at work, and it had me pretty loopy (I was pretty tired). A couple hours later that same portion did me just fine, not loopy. I don't really get cravings and have gone a couple days without using before, but if I am addicted now, it's happily so.
I recommend moderation, but do whatever the hell you like! 8)

I usually use 8mg portion snus, all my loose is extra sterk.

I find that portions delivery nic quicker than a tightly packed handbaked prilla of sterk.

So the 8mb portion satisfies me for about an hour. A handbaked pris of sterk loose satisfies me for 3 hours.

However If I have a week on exclusively 8mb portion the next time I use a big prilla of sterk I really feel the hit. But I can never get back the buzz snus used to give me in my first 2 months. Such is life.

Indeed, the first portion of Swedish snus I ever used was Catch Eucalyptis. I was ROLLING!!! I thought I had found the holy grail. My first portion of General Original made the computer screen I was looking at go blurry...
Now it's more of a comfortable relaxed sensation. General ES or a fat wad of loose is the only way I get back to those days when each portion was a tactical decision so if I fell down I wouldn't hit concrete. I didn't dare drive or work while snusing then. Good ol' days

I switch off between the sterks and other snus and sometimes I back off the sterk for a while, precisely because I don't want to blow my tolerance entirely. That's what happened to me and coffee, honestly. I had so much coffee in college and my first few jobs that now I have to have at least a cup every other day or I get caffeine withdrawal migraines. And caffeine withdrawal is a happy picnic in the park compared to nicotine withdrawal, so yeah. Don't wanna go down that road.

I use sterk (Claq Qui) pretty much only in the morning. For some reason my tolerance level is really high when I wake up and I like the extra strength. It also saves money/snus since otherwise I'd use two portions after waking up. I go through it pretty slowly due to this so I 've only been making about 20% of my snus orders Claq Qui. This strategy works for me.

That was my snus strategy for much of my use over 2 years. Then suddenly, I just started using a bunch more sterk spread consistently through the day. Like i can't go more than 3, 4 hours at the most now without a sterk.

I keep a near toxic quantity of nicotine in me at nearly all times. Because of this, I tend to prefer sterks. Considering I went from smoking 40-60 rollies of De La Conchas Friar's Mixture on a normal day (watch out on a bad one), I think that worrying about my snus tolerance isn't really that big of a deal. Still, I'll probably always keep a couple cans of normal strength stuff around, since too much Odens or Generals extra stark lös bothers my throat.

There is no balance for me...it's either a sterk or nothing Just kidding...but my hour to hour snus is a sterk...i just throw in a regular every now and then...kind of the opposite of sage. It works for me. No smoke cravings this way.

Claq Qui is a great first portion to kick off the day. I recently switched to Skruf Sterk Los for the morning - it tends to hit harder and faster than the Claq Qui, although I prefer the taste of the Claq Qui.

I'm rather new here, but am somewhat
                        taken aback by this thread.
                        You all sound like hard core addicts;
Right on the edge of total nicotine
                        addiction.
Is this the natural progression from
mini's to control or stop smoking to
to where you all appear to be?
                        What am I missing?

well...My personal answer - I would never have started with a mini to begin with - mini didn't even do anything to a co-worker of mine who has nothing to do with any kind of nicotine consumption.
I suspect I am indeed a nicotine addict - otherwise there would be no reason to start snusing at the age of 38. As far as sterks and regulars - I consume 3-4-5-6 portions per day 3 of which are sterks and etra sterks - I like to relax a bit more towards the evening. This was pretty much the case since the beginning of my snus activities which took place about 3 months ago and it is still staying the same. Prior to snus my most recent background was in dipping (skoal/kodiak/grizzly long cut wintergreen).
Edit - the math on sterks doesn't add up accurately on the days that I only use 3 or 4 portions. A more accurate way to say it - half of my daily snus are sterks and extra sterks.
I actually used to do mostly sterks at the beginning, but now I am starting to appreciate a milder effect from regular portions

                            Thank Artsnus. . .

No disrespect meant to anyone . .

I simply find the descriptions scary.
                            Not that I do not have a nicotine habit;
indeed I do. Smoke 2 packs a day for
                            55 years.

Started on General Minis and placed an
order at GetSnus for a variety of snus
                            including Odens extra stark.

Whoa. . .Knock me on my ass.

Don't think I want to progress to 5 or 6 of
                            those things a day.

Usually on the days that I consume 5 or 6 portions I'd say at least two and three of them respectively are regular strength...no mini's.
The swedes from what I understand typically snus regular portions all day long. The feedback I saw so far indicates that they pretty much have a portion in at all times, the consumption totalling to about a tin a day (this is from what I have read and I don't really have a large enough population sample to know how common that is).

I think another factor is the goal of snus usage. I think if I were to intend to quit my nicotine addiction after smoking 2 packs a day for a period of time I would probably just start using regulars and step down to minis (similarly to how NRT works). At this point in my life I snus simply because I enjoy it, therefore snusing minis would simply be a waste of my gums .
