    SNUS on the plane

I am going to go on vacation in august and I am wondering - is it a problem to bring a couple of snus cans with me? I just don't want to deal with explaining to the airport security what it is. Did anyone have any experiences with that?
    thanks

Its fine. Just don't bring metal tins, some people will shit their pants and make you remove it from your carry on and put it in your check luggage.

I have never had any sorts of problems. Some in my carry on, some in my checked bag. Just dump em in the tray with everything else when going through security.

You will LOVE snus on a pane!!! Biggest thing I ever done to make traveling SO much easier. Now, I happily sit in the back of the plane and chill till everyone is off.

I've never had any problems with snus and air travel. I usually throw a roll in my checked bag and have a single can in my pocket. I almost always use the metal Icetool can and nobody has ever given me any guff. At the most they'll open the tin by hand and ask what's inside. I just say that it's smokeless tobacco and they let me go on my way.

Dude I just flew with my snus..

Sage is right, it is so great. I remember flying and craving a cigarette. Snus made the flight a non-issue.

I actually saw a guy across the isle, two rows up, pop a Gotesborg Rape portion.

I was going to say something to him and try and be a snus brother, but I didn't want to be awkward/weird because I ended up at the urinal next to him in the airport after we landed. lol What do you say?

It was a total breeze. I had about 8 cans in my checked bag, four in my carry on, and one in my pocket.

Having moved to copenhagen from the UK and only recentley getting into snus this is one of things i'm looking forward to as a frequent flyer. No more waiting till last minute to check in, no rushing off the plane (and then finding your checked luggage comes out last anyway) to get that smoke. It will be bliss not having to rush off and try to find the nearest exit.

No problems at all. On my last international trip I hand carried two cans of snus, two nasal snuff bullets, two electronic cigarettes and a packet of Nicorette (just in case everything else was confiscated). I also had doubles of everything in checked baggage

Only got checked once out of about 10 passes through security (lots of flights) and that was for the e-cig. [I just said "it's a cigarette" and they said "oh okay" (which I thought was a bit bizarre considering it was in two pieces and silver in color)].

But out of all the cache of substances I had on my possession the only thing I used in-flight was snus. Didn't want all the hassle that comes with the other things (and Nicorette is sh*t).

Good thing to have snus with you when you CANNOT smoke or anything like that.

ATM I only use snus, but as I'm going to Madrid for the next two weeks, I will smoke there since snus is not sold in Spain whatsoever.

I know I'll bring 4 cans of snus to survive on the plane and bus. Damn EU legislation....!! :!:

Just got back from a round trip with no problem at all with airline security or anyone else. As Sage and a few others said, it sure was a pleasure enjoying my snus on the flights. And upon the return trip home when we couldn't land because of weather, I was enjoying some more snus and thinking about how glad I was that I wasn't waiting to have a smoke. The plane was diverted to another airport where we landed and had to wait out the weather in the plane until we could take off again and finally get into my home port. That snus in my pocket was better than gold.

It so completely changed my whole travel experience. I remember when I was little and flying was always an adventure. Then, for so many years, it was just torture until i could run off the plane, and then run for the exits so I could grab a smoke. For over 20 years, it was just stressful.

With snus, it is an adventure again. If I got stuck in a plane for 24 hours now, I would just have a planeload of new best friends as long as have my snus to keep me happy.

I always travel with about triple what I really need. Guess I just hate being away from my freezer so always WAY overdo what I bring. But if I really end up on that plane for 24 hours, I could take care of every other smoker stuck with me. So some REALLY best friends out of that.

I'm so glad someone else brought this up, when I was a smoker airports meant one thing.... me being angry for hours on end.

Snus is better than dip, no spitting, lasts longer, tastes better, and the best thing, I get to offer snus to different people who I see on the verge of chewing their cigarettes!

I read the title of this thread and immediately imagined a sequel to "Snakes on a Plane".

"Who got my ****ing snus? Mother****a!"

Snus was great on my plane ride to Malaga, Spain. It was insane, direct flight, every second person was shaking for a cigarette by the end of the flight. Those bathroom smoke alarms work really well, and i mean it.

Oh putting up a snus and relaxing with some music on your ipod while reading a magazine or watching all the people sucking on their plastic nicotine sticks while theyre shaking so bad because they want a smoke..

                            Just great

Of course no problem. While I flew last summer, I got a talk from Amsterdam security guards for being in Europe for over 6 months (and I didn't bring proof of Norwegian citizenship, only my Canadian passport, stupid me) all the while I had a snus in my lip. They didn't even notice or ask.

Before you ask, I was in Amsterdam waiting for my flight to Vancouver, so I was leaving Europe after being here nearly a year. They just took a copy of my IDs and sendt me on my way.
